Baccarat Rouge 540 is a popular scent often ‘copied’ by other manufacturers and is a global sensation. Pop superstar Rihanna used this bottle as her go-to scent before launching her own scents, so it’s no surprise that many women are obsessed with it.

Mugler Angel Elixir EDP
Keeping in line with the classic design of Thierry Mugler’s Angel perfume bottle, shaped like a star, the new fragrance Angel Elixir, released this year (2023), has the same design but a richer shade of blue.
Every time I see this perfume, it reminds me of when my stepfather bought me Angel. A bottle design that, unlike most other perfumes, doesn’t stand up on its own, so it would not sit proudly on the bedside table and be far too sweet for my liking, with heavy base notes of vanilla.
I never wore it. I never told my step-dad I didn’t like it either.
Mugler Angel Elixir is worth comparing with Mugler’s 1992 perfume Angel. The former fragrance contained lovely notes, which may be too much for some to wear. As you can see from Angel Elixir, the base notes are still beautiful, so I recommend trying a sample first.

This scent has a beautiful touch of freshness and floral notes. With an aquatic and floral theme, it is suitable for office wear. It is distinctive and recognisable, and a little spritz is enough with this bottle if you’re not overly keen on too many fruit and floral notes. It has a reasonably moderate sillage and a long-lasting scent, perfect for Spring evenings spent in the garden or having lunch with friends.
Many have said the price is good value, and it has a clean, fresh vibrancy, with the musk note popping through for a very feminine aroma. For a perfume that is over 30 years old, the late Issey Miyake, who only passed away last year (2022) at the age of 84, has created a timeless classic, and the design and shape of the bottle are most certainly one that can be carried in your handbag for a spritz during the day.

Launched this year, Spring Flower by Creed is a delicate, fruit-and-floral fragrance perfect for women. When we use musk as one of our base notes, we always sense warmer weather on the horizon, the chance to wear lighter clothing and sandals, and the sun on our skin. As the opening note, Grapefruit imparts a zesty fruit note and a delightful mixture of peach, white flowers, and Jasmine.
It has a moderate sillage and a long-lasting fragrance for this re-released perfume bottle. A simple baby-pink bottle design and silver cap make this perfume a classic for women, even though the price tag may be too high for some.

King Charles III’s Favourite Cologne
We were curious to discover King Charles III’s favourite cologne when over 18 million people tuned in to ITV to watch the Coronation on Saturday, May 6, 2023. We watched the ceremony of our new King’s inauguration at Westminster Abbey, the same place where our Queen, Elizabeth II, was laid to rest.
This article is part of a fragrance blog I built myself — I’ll explain how at the end if you’re curious.

You don’t need to be a fan of the Royals or a prominent royalist to appreciate the work and effort that went into organising such a big event. It was a traditional affair, with the Coronation held in a stunning location and a few changes from our late Queen’s 1953 crowning. In this shorter, current service, multiple faiths and cultures were represented across the U.K. It was undoubtedly a ceremony worth watching, even if you dipped in and out, as I did, and watched the highlights. Several clients showed it on their TVs at home so that I could watch parts of the day.
The Princess of Wales looked as stunning as ever in an embroidered Ivory silk crêpe gown designed by Alexander McQueen and a deep blue silk satin floor-length Coronation robe.
Topped with a headpiece that any young girl would be honoured to wear, she exuded elegance. We also have to mention Prince Louis of Wales. This cheeky chap’s pure joy on every occasion lifts a smile to everyone’s face, from shielding his ears as the Red Arrows roared over the palace on the late Queen’s birthday, to charming everyone with his delightful expressions at the King’s Coronation.
The five-year-old certainly knows how to entertain the crowds; we think he is adorable. The layers of the golden robe ( called the Supertunica) the King wore were impressive and quite a weight to carry. It weighs around 2kg (4.4lb). It was a stunning material; we could even see from the King’s face how heavy it was without the 17th-century St Edward’s crown.
The crown weighs almost 5lb and is made of solid gold. Its collection of sapphires, rubies, tourmaline, and garnets surrounds a velvet cap and ermine band. It is a stunning masterpiece that will always stand out to future generations. Late in the ceremony, King Charles III was seen wearing a lighter version of the Imperial State Crown.
Christine Dior
Few people have heard of Christian Dior, the French fashion couturier born on January 21, 1905, and who founded the company Dior on December 16, 1946.
They are among the most iconic perfume and fashion houses today. They create their unique clothing style and produce some of the world’s most famous fragrances. Many celebrities are known to wear their scents and endorse them.
Famous women such as Jennifer Aniston and Sienna Miller have also been known for wearing the renowned fashion house’s designs.
After Dior died in 1957 from a massive heart attack, another famous name in the fashion world, Yves Saint Laurent, was left to take over and keep the brand alive. He was only 21 then, but was happy to carry on Dior’s legacy until he was called to serve in the French army in 1960, when he was released.
Marc Bohan replaced YSL, alongside other famous designers who introduced handbags and shoes to the world-famous fashion house.
Christian Dior prided himself on being a couturier and on his interest in the perfume industry, so he created his first perfume, Miss Dior, in 1947.
In 2017, Dior revived the original Miss Dior Eau de Parfum for women, a scent that remains hugely popular today. The American actress Natalie Portman has been the face of Miss Dior since 2010. The original Miss Dior perfume was a tribute to the designer’s sister, Catherine Dior.
King Charles III’s Favourite Cologne
We have covered several celebrities on the website and their favourite scents, so once our King was crowned, I was curious to find out what scent our new heir to the throne prefers. Many famous faces have a signature scent, and Charles is no exception.
Knowing how big the fragrance house has become, it’s little surprise that our King would choose one of Dior’s iconic fragrances as his signature scent.
Eau Sauvage by Dior is a gorgeous, citrus-scented, and aromatic fragrance for men. It was released in 1966 and was the first men’s fragrance from the House of Dior.

The fragrance and skincare world has been famous for many years. Whether it’s a shower gel, deodorant, or something more substantial, we all use scents in some form as part of our daily routine. Of course, many men and women don’t enjoy wearing fragrances, and that’s perfectly fine. Their skin may be too sensitive, or they just haven’t found the right scent.

Young girls, in particular, are influenced by their favourite pop idols and by the perfumes they currently endorse or have helped create, which shape their unique scents. Every other celebrity has had a fragrance either endorsed with their name or created a line of perfumes or aftershaves for the world to try.
Teenage boys are similar in how easily they are influenced. They may not follow pop and superstar culture as much as female teenagers do, but they are still influenced by fashion, music, TV, and the latest video games.
When I was young and in school, it wasn’t something I would spritz every day before heading off to learn. Nowadays, fragrances are more popular with the younger generation, and there’s a concoction of scents around the school building and in the classroom.
Deodorants are introduced around age 13/14, when they become necessary for hygiene, and the dreaded hormones start to surface. What we could get away with and not sweat after an afternoon of PE isn’t the case when we reach puberty.
My eldest son was about 14 years old when he became interested in wearing more than just a deodorant to school. I also remember him being more interested in taking regular showers! Maybe it’s a boy thing!

We don’t have to look far to find Rihanna’s favourite perfume or latest performance. If you Google anything related to the superstar, her incredible Super Bowl performance on February 12, 2023, is the first video that pops up. The Barbadian singer looks stunning in a pillar box red jumpsuit and is heavily pregnant with her second child. We watched her hugely successful performance.

There won’t be many artists who can get away with such a performance at the Super Bowl as Rihanna has pulled off. Being away from the limelight for the past four years, she returned to the stage during the halftime show.
As she began her performance, suspended on a high platform, Rihanna opened the show with a medley of hits, including We Found Love and Rude Boy.

At 27 ( born in 1996), Zendaya Marée Stoermer Coleman has the world at her feet. She has received Golden Globe awards and two Primetime Emmy awards. Zendaya Marée Stoermer Coleman began her career as a backup dancer and a child model for Macy’s, Melvyn’s, and Old Navy.
She made her television debut in 2010, starring in the Disney Channel sitcom Shake It Up, and has since been featured in several films.
Her feature film debut came in 2017 when she starred alongside her current partner, Tom Holland, in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
It is just one of the fantastic Marvel films my two sons and I have enjoyed watching. She also starred in the film’s sequels.

The film was a massive hit when it was released in 2017 and is still very much watched today.

It might be too heavy for an office or retail shop working environment.
