A special day deserves the right fragrance so what do we need to know about choosing the best perfume for a wedding day?
Whether you are the bride or groom, finding the right scent will make the day more special and memorable, so we will take a look at both female and male scents.
A few years back, weddings seemed to be more of a summer season function due to having the best weather we could hope for.
The perfect backdrop for photos with the sun shining, the flowers in full bloom and the wedding party wearing gorgeous summer dresses to compliment their suntan.
For those living and getting married in the UK, summer weather was often unpredictable and so the bride- to- be would opt for the summer months in the hope that the weather was perfect for their important day.
Nowadays weddings take place abroad and during the winter months too so it can be difficult to find the right scent for the right time of year and its special occasion.
The best perfume for a wedding day
First of all, we need a scent that makes a lasting impression and has the ability to re create special memories each time it is worn.
Perfume, very much like music, has the wonderful ability to bring back memories and the wedding day for both the man and woman is one that is to be forever treasured and remembered.
Secondly, we need a scent that lasts for the whole duration of the day without the need to reapply.
Whether it’s for a male or female, there are plenty of scents to choose from for such an occasion.
Depending on what time of year/season that the wedding takes place, this will help to narrow down the selection accordingly.
For anyone who has ever attended a wedding will already know that it’s a very busy time surrounded by lots of family, friends and special guests.
Everyone involved wants the day to run smoothly and be perfect for the bride and groom.
Wearing a scent that is overpowering for those around you will be noticeable and memorable but for the wrong reasons.
The bride is the first person that everyone looks at and so the guests will notice every small detail. From the hair and make up to the beautiful dress she will be wearing.
Whilst perfume isn’t seen, wearing the right fragrance will definitely have an impact on the groom and the guests.
As the bride walks down the isle, those attending will notice her elegance and beauty and as she walks past.
Any scent that she may be wearing could be significant or subtle depending on her chosen one.
Some may be led to believe that in order to have a fragrance that lasts for several hours or indeed all day, they need to wear one that has strong fragrance notes.
Wearing an overpowering scent will most certainly spoil your dress and first impression as a bride. We don’t need to wear a strong perfume to stand out and be noticed.
Having a subtle and elegant scent that softly lingers as you walk past your guests in the church will have heads turning just as much as your outfit so it is important to choose the most suitable one.
The groomJust as important as the bride is the groom at the wedding. Whilst many eyes will be on the bride as the couple walk down the isle, the groom will still have eyes watching him and the perfect scent will be noticeable too. There is definitely something quite exquisite about a male wearing a crisp new suit, perfectly groomed and having the most incredible scent lingering as they walk past. His bride will appreciate it just as much as their guests.
The season- things to consider
Are you getting married during the month of spring?
Look for scents that are floral based to bring the outside smells of fresh flowers and warm days to life with your perfume.
Possibly the most popular scents around today as they are so versatile and can be worn day or night whatever the season.
If your wedding is held during the month of summer, regardless of the country and the weather is forecast to be as hot, it’s important to choose a perfume where the base notes don’t react with the hot temperatures.
One option as discussed in a previous post the best summer fragrances for women, is to opt for a body spray.
These will be much lighter than perfume and therefore will rest on the skin without the heat from the weather or your own body heat reacting negatively.
Wearing the wrong scent during hot weather can make your choice of fragrance smell more extreme as the heat reacts.
If your wedding is planned to fall in the Autum, such fragrances can have deeper base notes and be more oriental and woody.
It’s still important to choose one that isn’t too heavy with such notes.
Winter weddings can have a similar theme when choosing the right heart and base notes.
The skin is much cooler so there is no risk of the scent reacting with body heat and therefore a wider choice of scents are available.
Of course, there will be many a bride who may in fact not wish to wear any kind of perfume or body fragrance.
For those who are not perfume lovers, hair perfume is the perfect solution. The chance to still carry a scent around with you, without having it directly onto the skin.
Many women may want to have a different scent to what they would normally wear so that it feels more special to have a new scent.
Others will keep to their trusted favourite signature scent that everyone knows and recognizes.
Either way, whatever a bride chooses, it has to be their own decision as to what they do or don’t wear.

The wonderful thing about perfume is the chance to purchase and try samples. This is especially important for the big day.
Samples also make wonderful favours too as you will read in the same article.
Whilst we can get away with buying clothing before trying the item on, perfume is such a personal item to purchase.
Many places may not accept exchanges or refunds once the packaging and bottle has been opened.

Some may say it’s the perfect solution when trying to find the right scent, not only for the bride but also one that balances well with the grooms choice of fragrance.
A unisex scent that both bride and groom can wear on their special day would seem to be the answer for those that struggle to find ‘matching scents’.
One that also saves money when out looking and purchasing a memorable perfume for such a special day.
So if we choose a Jo Malone scent, a brand that has a fairly large selection, which one do we choose for the special day?

Our late Queen certainly had good taste in colours with her outfits, handbags and style of jewellery but what perfume did Queen Elizabeth wear ?
Everyone has their own unique scent and favourite aroma when it comes to perfume. Many have a signature scent that reminds everyone around them of their presence.
Our late Sovereign never needed a particular scent to stand out or be noticed as her presence in this world was by far the greatest in the world.
Nether the less, the Queen wanted to wear a scent for all of her duties and events that she attended so let’s take a look at what perfume our beloved Queen wore.
According to Vogue Magazine, one of Queen Elizabeth’s favourite scents was Guerlain L’Heare Bleue. A scent that was first created way back in 1912.
Surprisingly not as expensive as we may think either.
Around $126.00/£108.00 from their website is a pretty reasonable price some may say, especially for someone as high profile as Her Majesty.
Other places such as eBay will have a variety of prices so it’s worth taking a look.
We almost see a touch of royal with the shape of this perfume bottle which was designed by Raymond Guerlain.
The soft top edges almost look like a scroll, used by the ancient Greeks and with a hollowed heart as its stopper, it gives a sense of royalty and romance.
Another ‘royal’ look also shows with the blue circled label in the centre of the bottle.
Some might say that it is a very fitting scent for our Queen to be wearing too when we learn of the fragrance notes behind this scent.
Heart notes : Tuberose, carnation, violet, rose and Neroli.
Base notes : Tonka bean, iris, benzoin and vanilla.
Take a look at the heart notes in particular with this scent. What a wonderful combination of flowers and those that very much speak volumes when it comes to royalty.
Quite fitting also that L’Heure Bleue “marks the meeting of two soulmates destined to become one in the frisson of eternity “-Guerlain.com
With iris being one of the most expensive and admired fragrance ingredients, its easy to learn why this perfume really is fit for a Queen and is the key ingredient in this bottle.
The top notes give a distinctive smell of aniseed with a fresh scent of bergamot – a beautiful combination of floral, citrus and tangy notes.
The base notes are rich and warm in toasted almonds, vanilla, nutty, cinnamon and spicy scents
Three stages of perfume notes
We know that perfume goes through three stages when it is worn on the skin and we instantly smell the top notes of any perfume.
These will be the notes that hit us instantly as soon as we spray our scent.
They are our first impression of a fragrance and the first to leave your skin.
Top notes are often fresh, citrus and refreshing and once they calm down, usually around 5 minutes of being on the skin, we then smell a selection of heart notes.
The heart notes of a scent are the main centerpiece of a perfume and the notes we smell tend to linger between 6-8 hours after it has been sprayed.
As these notes last a longer time than the top notes, they usually have a floral and woody scent that lingers.
Once those heart notes have settled down, we then appreciate the base notes and these are the notes that stay for the rest of the duration of the perfume.
Alongside the heart notes, the base notes are also the scents that those around us will continuously smell.
Base notes are the foundation of perfume and almost the lasting scent and impression.
These notes are the ones that others will remember you by, bring back fond memories and add fullness and depth of your scent.
Often base notes are woody, with a delicate fragrance of musk and are the longer lasting within your chosen perfume.
If you purchase a perfume or aftershave that contains 20% perfume oil, such as FM World fragrances, you will have a lasting scent for perhaps longer than 8 hours.
This also depends on your skin type too.
Depending on what strength perfume you have purchased, whether it be an eau de toilette, eau de perfume or perfume can also determine how long the fragrance lasts.
Another favourite scent for the Queen
Another popular choice of perfume that the Queen has been known to wear and affordable too, is White Rose by Floris, created by Mr John Floris in the early 1800s.
A scent that has also been worn by Florence Nightingale and is cruelty-free.
This more simplistic design of bottle will set you back around $145.00/£80.00 so within many a perfume lovers budget.
Within this bottle too, shows that the Queen does have a favourite when it comes to particular fragrance notes.
Fragrances notes in White Rose by Floris
Top notes : Aldehydic green and carnation
Heart notes : Iris, rose, jasmine and violet
Base notes : Amber, musk, and powdery notes
- As one might expect with a name like White Rose, this fragrance is a fairly light weighted scent that doesn’t overpower and lasts for around 9 hours.
It brings a sense of bouquet flowers with its soft choice of aroma. Another scent that has iris notes that are balanced out well with the amber and musk.
It’s clear that our Queen had great taste when it came to perfume. Classy scents to match her classic dress sense.
Have you ever tried these perfumes that the Queen has worn?

It’s getting to that time of year when the nights start drawing in and Halloween is fast approaching.
Halloween pumpkin candles have become popular of late and we’re not referring to the small tea light ones that you put inside your carved pumpkin.
There is a wonderful collection online to make your home have the scent of autumn.
The leaves start to fall and the colours of autumn are laid on the ground as crisp leaves that we can walk through.
The lovely thing about Halloween candles is their vibrant colours.
Orange/red jars that have a wonderful autumnal scent to match the season and they make their surroundings have a very warm, winter feel.
During the summer months, we light a candle to make the garden look pretty and keep insects at bay as we entertain friends and family but there’s a different feel when we light candles in the winter.

We know that candles can improve our mood. There is something about watching the flame flicker that brings a sense of peace and calm.
Even the unscented kind can be just as calming and rewarding.
Many of the tea light candles that we use in small containers are unscented.
Just to have them lit in the room on a cold, winters evening can be enough to bring us into a different world of safety and warmth.
Lighting a candle during a stressful day can really help shift your mood to more positive way of thinking.
Often without even realising it and wax melts are also great for their gorgeous aroma as well as bringing a chilled vibe to our day.
Other candles that are scented can bring back wonderful memories and have a very positive impact on our lives as the room fills with a delicate scent of fragrance.
We know that there are always candles on sale at Christmas time that have a distinctive scent for that particular season.
Those that contain wood, spices, apple cinnamon and chocolate scents are very popular during the holiday season but what about Halloween ?
Candle fragrances for HalloweenPumpkin, caramel, gourmet spice, cinnamon, nutmeg and pecan are your typical fragrance notes that we find in Halloween candles.A wonderful combination of fragrances that captures the atmosphere that surrounds cold, spooky nights.Alongside the rich colours of candle wax and fancy containers, Halloween sees many creative candle designs to choose from.Candles make a wonderful gift too, whatever the season or occasion and many are very affordable, wherever we purchased them from.
Bringing Halloween to lifeHalloween has been a tradition as far back as 6,000 years ago and has been hugely popular ever since, especially in America.A time when children dressed up in their favourite spooky costume to knock on doors for Trick Or Treat ( my own misconception as a child in believing that it was called Trickle Treat! )
Over the years we have seen pumpkins sat on windowsills with all the house lights out or carved pumpkins sitting by the front door.
Pumpkins that are lit these days are a sign that the owner is happy for children to knock on that person’s door.
A much better way of doing things I feel, especially if they are the older generation.
They don’t want to have to keep answering the door, especially if they are not mobile enough to keep getting up and down out of their chair or are perhaps vulnerable and too scared to open the door late at night.
We see hundreds of children dressed up in their favourite costume, carrying their cauldron- shaped sweet tub, witches hat or similar container as they knock on people’s doors for Trick Or Treat and collect sweets.
Tea light candles are used to pop inside the carved pumpkin and they look very effective once darkness falls especially if one has been very creative in the carving.
Nowadays, we see seasonal candles being sold online and in the shops. Pumpkin scented candles for the Halloween season has become very popular over the years and adds an element of mystery as the scents waft through the air.
You will see many candles in the shape of witches or black cats as well as the traditional glass jar styled ones.
Some of the clear glass candle jars are decorated with spiders webs or witches and these look really effective when they are lit.
When you click on links to various merchants on this site and make a purchase, this can result in this site earning a commission. Affiliate programs and affiliations include, but are not limited to, the eBay Partner Network.
Of course, you could be very creative and decorate your own jars to place out for the evening if you have young children that like to be involved with the tradition.
If you are lighting a pumpkin that is sitting on your windowsill or outside, it’s much safer to use a tea-light candle that uses LED lights and these are a very reasonable price to buy.

There are vibrant colours of orange and red with many of our seasonal candles and they make a wonderful gift whatever the season and don’t have to cost a fortune either.
Let’s take a look at some of the wonderful Halloween candles that are available today.
A wonderful combination of savory scent of nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice in a pumpkin puree with this delightful glass Pumpkin fragrance.
Perfect for a cosy evening by the fire or lit on the dining table at tea time.
The great thing about this candle after it is burned is that you can wash the glass and reuse for something else like a tea-light candle instead.
There are some decorative glass candles by Colonialcandle.com suitable for Halloween too.
- Top Notes: Woodsmoke, Red Fruit, Warm Spices
- Middle Notes: Pine Needles, Toasted Marshmallow
- Base Notes: Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, Turbinado Sugar

Luxury candles have always been popular and surprisingly, they are not too expensive either.
We all like luxury now and then, whether its a holiday, a new perfume or an item of clothing. It’s the feel good factor of purchasing something.
Retail therapy may have moved more online over the past few years but that hasn’t stopped anyone from the occasional treat.
Everyone loves a candle. Whatever the time of year or season, they really do bring a sense of charm and coziness to any home.
Many people have been using them throughout the summer months.
They brighten up the garden during the warm evenings and help to keep the pesky insects at bay.
Definitely a must whilst we’ve enjoyed BBQ’s and outdoor space for several months.
I love candles. Not just for the fragrance they give but for the tranquility of watching them burn, especially on a cold, winters evening.
Some might say that they are too nice to burn but I see little point in having a candle to collect dust so, strike a match, pop one in your lounge/dining room, wherever you wish and enjoy the atmosphere that they create.
I’m sure there are many luxury candles sitting in someone’s home that have never been lit.
We don’t buy candles to keep as dust collectors and every day that we wake up and breathe it’s a special day so go ahead and light that candle.

What are luxury candles?
Such a word can be misleading, yet it doesn’t have to mean expensive to purchase.
When it comes to candles, they are labelled as luxury because of the fine ingredients that have been sourced in making them.
Many are still affordable and they generally last longer too so the money you pay goes that much further.
Unlike luxury perfumes that can carry an eye-watering price tag if you purchase high quality designer brands, candles are simply made with better ingredients and wicks that burn longer.
Their price doesn’t appear to reflect as much as perfumes do.

Luxury candles are usually made using top quality wax such as soy, beeswax or coconut wax.
Paraffin wax is found in the lower end price tag and therefore the candles won’t burn for as long.
There are many candles that are made with a combination of ingredients and luxury candles are rarely found to contain tallow.
Tallow is a hard, fatty substance derived from animals and is used to make candles as well as soap bars.
The best ingredient when looking for a luxury candle is to purchase ones that use soy wax.
Yes it is more expensive but you will find that those candles made with such ingredients will burn more evenly and you won’t see as much smoke or soot as you would from cheaper brands.
Many a time we have all purchased candles at the cheaper end of our budget and after a few hours of burning the wick, the candle burns unevenly and produces a lot of smoke and toxic fumes.
There will be some candles that have ingredients such as coconut oil or beeswax.
The benefits of using soy candles
Soy candles are non-toxic so you know that as soon as you light the wick, the candle won’t release any toxins into the air.
It is worth considering the environment that you live in as well when purchasing certain types of candles.
If you are a pet owner, it is much more beneficial for the animal to have a healthier and cleaner option in your candle product.
We know that soy wax candles are made of plants so they won’t release any harmful toxins into the atmosphere so your pets will be safe.
Whilst soy wax candles are a better choice for your home, they still do have an impact on the environment.
They contribute to deforestation. This can then have an impact on animals that live on the surrounding land, those that use trees as their habitat as well as aquatic life.
That said, they are still one of the most popular when it comes to candle producing.
Pros and cons of buying paraffin wax candlesParaffin wax does have its benefits when used in the therapeutic world ( good for increased blood flow, relaxing muscles and joints and relieving body pain). It also has cosmetic benefits as it acts as a moisturiser to keep the skin soft and supple. With the good also comes the bad. Paraffin wax contains toxins that are harmful.
If you have ever burnt a paraffin candle, you will possibly already have noticed the soot that gets deposited onto your furniture or on the interior walls.
Not a pleasant sight and it can be difficult to remove.
When you burn a paraffin wax candle, it is similar to burning petroleum, the same fumes that we get from our cars as paraffin is a component of petroleum.
Having such fumes can easily enter the lungs and become a big issue, especially in children.
Our environment suffers too if we use paraffin wax. As it is a petroleum-based source, the environment is harmed in the same way that car fumes have an impact on our world.
Components of paraffin make it highly flammable. Not a safe item to have in your home.
Once lit, there really is no control about how that candle will burn.
The benefits of beeswaxBeeswax is eco- friendly and definitely the better option. This wax is 100% natural and is a renewable source. When you burn a candle made of beeswax, it doesn’t have any smoke or soot and therefore burns much cleaner. They are definitely a healthier option and are very safe for your lungs and for children and pets in the home.
The pros and cons of buying coconut wax
Coconut wax is most definitely cleaner when it comes to burning the candle and is more sustainable than soy candles. It will burn more slowly and by doing so, the fragrance in that candle will fill up your home with a beautiful scent.
Coconut wax is eco-friendly and suitable for vegans who may prefer to not buy beeswax.
Having a better impact on the environment, a safer burn and no toxic fumes does mean that coconut wax is more expensive compared to the other types of wax candles listed.
It can be hard to find a candle that is made of pure coconut wax as many do have a combination of different types of wax when they are created.
One of the reasons why many candles contain a mixture of wax is to prevent the candle from tunneling when it is burning as well as burning slower.
Some may be led to believe that coconut wax candles smell of coconut. And a scented candle will be just that, unscented. It’s not until the fragrances added to that wax that you appreciate the different scents that are available.
WicksIf you are buying a candle with a cotton wick, it is important to trim as this will help with the burn of the candle and also prevent a buildup of carbon and soot. You will still experience a good fragrance from the candle. You may notice that some candles have quite a long wick and people often forget to trim them before lighting. If they are lit without trimming they will burn faster and will have a hotter flame and produce more soot.Candles are often like expensive perfume. We only use them for special occasions but what if you could buy a candle that smelt the same as your perfume and at a price you can afford ?Take a visit to our online shop for a selection of luxury candles where their scent is inspired by some of the top names in the perfume world.Read our related article on Designer Scented CandlesHave you ever wanted to make your own candles? Apart from our face, our hands are always on show throughout the year and it shows if we don’t look after them.
By using a hand exfoliating scrub, we can make sure that our hands look and feel perfect all the time.
We spend so much money on skincare products, face peel masks or perhaps foot exfoliating gels and often forget our hands.
Although many people will use hand cream on a regular basis, sometimes our hands need that little extra help if they have become very dry.
Dry hands whatever the weather
It’s not only the winter months that dry all hands out.
The hot, summer months can still play havoc and leave our skin and nails feeling very dry and unkempt.
Hands that are constantly in water or chemicals can have a detrimental effect on the skin.
For those who have their hands on show for the work they carry out such as hairdressers, like myself, beauticians, make up artists, secretaries, shop assistance etc, it’s important to take care of our hands.
It’s surprising how many people do notice our hands too.
It’s all very well having manicured nails but if the rest of your hands are dry, scaly and the cuticles are rough, it lets down the beautiful colour nail varnish that you’re wearing.
Particularly in the winter, hands that are constantly in water and not dried thoroughly can become very sore and cracked and in some cases, they can bleed across the knuckles.
We all know that prevention is better than cure so by keeping our hands moisturised even when they don’t appear to be dry, means we are halfway there to maintaining the right pH balance for our skin.
Sometimes though, even a good hand cream isn’t enough and we need to remove dead skin in order to feel and see a smooth surface.
Just like when we reach for our face packs on a girly evening, or pop our feet into an exfoliating foot peel to remove dead skin and get our feet summer ready, our hands sometimes need that extra treatment too.

Getting into a routine
Over the years I have always used hand cream before going to bed. I try to apply throughout the day but it can be difficult when cutting or shampooing hair.
When I came across the FM WORLD hand scrub, I thought I’d give it a try.
I had already used the foot exfoliator peel which I was suitably impressed with and you can read my review about this product.
Hand exfoliating scrub
COMPLETE CARE – SMOOTHING HAND PEELING
This product looks just like any other hand cream tube but the contents inside are where the magic begins.
The consistency of this cream is very similar to a hand cream consistency with its white formula but it has tiny grains of exfoliation within that has a gentle yet effective scrub to gently lift dead skin.
Imagine therapy for your face?
This is a smoothing therapy for the hands. A product that will make your skin feel exceptionally smooth, hydrated and more elastic.
It has ingredients of volcanic pearlite and powdered walnut shell.
The exfoliator gently removes any dead skin cells and helps to stimulate their restoration.
With the added ingredient of Panthenol and allantoin alongside triglyceride, to give that extra smoothness.
Even the driest and chapped of hands are instantly restored to their smoothness.
A great product to use before having a manicure too or to use as part of your skin care routine.
The smooth consistency helps the product to spread easily.
I would recommend applying to dry hands first so that the product can be worked into the skin to remove calluses and dry areas.
A few minutes of working the product through your hands and with its very pleasant aroma, rinse under warm water, tap dry and your hands will look and feel rejuvenated.
There is definitely a noticeable smoothness to the hands after the first use and if you use regularly, once a week, it keeps your hands from further drying and getting chapped.
Pop some of your favourite moisturiser on afterwards and you’re ready to go.
My go to hand cream is FM World’s Complete Care – Nourishing Hand Cream.
A very concentrated hand cream so only a small amount is needed to keep hands feeling beautifully soft.
Back in March 2020, when our NHS were working tirelessly to save so many lives, my Facebook page, FM Fragrances by Louise, managed to sell a total of 23 tubes of this hand cream to help the doctors and nurses with their sore hands.
They were over the moon with our generosity.
Constant washing and the use of alcohol -based hand sanitiser played havoc with everyone’s skin and so my members helped enormously by purchasing tubes so that they could be sent to my local hospital in Hertfordshire, UK for our wonderful NHS staff.
You can also view the hand cream here.

With summer well and truly here to stay for a while yet, many of us are reaching for the floral scents. Something delicate to wear and perfume that smells like flowers are suitable for the heat.
Of course, it’s not just women who wear floral scents. Many male fragrances have a touch of feminine flowers in them.
These scents will fall more in the Chypre family so there will be a hint of more oriental and woody aromas.
With so many unisex fragrances available on the market today, many of these will have a balance of masculine and feminine scents in their bottle.
There are lots of flowers that perfumes are based on too.
Be careful how much you sprayFloral based perfumes can often smell a little too sweet and sickly if too much is sprayed on, so less is more for the summer months. The heat from our body as well as the atmosphere can increase the vibrancy of a perfume so it is best to find a delicate scent or spray a smaller amount.
If you are new to the fragrance world, it can be hard trying to find the fragrance scent that is suitable to your skin.
Samples are a great way of trying a new scent and well worth trying on a few different ones from all the different fragrance families.Once you know your family type and what suits you the most, you can then narrow down what other ingredients you want in your fragrance.
When we think of floral perfumes, we don’t just think of flowers.
The floral family consists of so many elements so we will find scents from fruit, citrus, woody, aldehyte and water green notes.
Flower perfumes do seem to dominate the fragrance world as they are so popular and in the majority of our bottles.
They are also suitable for both male and female scents.

Alien-Thierry MuglerAnother scent to become hugely popular in 2005 is Alien.Thierry Mugler has created an acquired scent with this very feminine perfume.Just like its deep purple bottle design, Alien gives an instant scent of summer with its simplistic floral notes. There’s a strong scent of sambac jasmine as soon as the first spray hits your skin and with a heart note of cashmere wood and base note of white amber, every woman will feel sensual wearing this scent. With its touch of woody scent, it balances out the floral notes perfectly. There is even a hint of musk after the first spray has worn to its middles notes.

The bottle alone shows class, elegance and sophistication as we experience the floral, summer scents of this 2012 perfume.
The history behind this creation being one about Eve, Gods creation.
She started off being pure and innocent before trying the forbidden fruit and this scent belongs to the Killian collection of fragrances based around women of today, unafraid to be sultry and bold.
A wonderful combination of fragrance notes which include jasmine, rose, amber, cedar, orange blossom and osmanthus gives this perfume a very feminine feel.
Daisy-Marc JacobsThe name alone speaks volumes when it comes to perfume that smell like flowers. With its very distinctive flowery bottle cap and soft edges, it gives a real sense of pretty Daisies, lavender fields’ and summer.
Created in 2007, Daisy is a classic in the perfume world and has stayed at the forefront of many of its competitions for the past 15 years.
The perfect scent for youngsters as well as the more mature, it has a proper aroma of freshness.
It bursts with fruity scents and is a fresh fragrance that sits perfectly on the skin during summer.
Daisy has a very distinctive fragrance and this is why so many women love it.
What’s not to love about wild berries, musk, jasmine and vanilla?
Some vanilla notes can be overpowering in certain perfumes but Daisy has just the right blend with the musk and white woods base notes to still be able to enjoy its pretty delicate scent.
Perfect- Marc Jacobs
Another “perfect” scent by Marc Jacobs that is a fairly new release to the perfume world when it was launched in 2020.
A very similar style to Daisy, Perfect also shows off a wonderful and creative design in its bottle cap.
This time with charms in the shape of dice, a star, a shoe, a peeled banana, MJ initials on gold cubes and a hair bow on its cap.
All created by the man himself to give a very feminine, playful and elegant scent.
This perfume really does bring out the summer in everyone as soon as the bottle is sprayed.
A combination of fruit, almond, wood, sweet, nutty and musk notes gives this classic bottle its popularity.
Rose prick- Tom FordTom Fords fragrances have become very successful and popular over the past few years and it’s easy to see why.Rose Prick is a unisex scent that almost looks like it belongs in the ladies section of any perfume store. In fact, this unisex fragrance is very much inspired by Tom Ford’s own garden of rose scents. To match up to its name, Rose Prick contains fragrance notes to give its name justice.Rose, pepper, spice and patchouli give this scent a wild and open fields’ kind of vibe.Even though its aroma sits in the Chypre family, there is still a scent of flowers and summer scents that fits and is balanced perfectly for both men and women.
Fleur De Portofino-Tom Ford unisexAnother of Tom Ford’s creations with perhaps a slightly more masculine looking bottle, is Fleur De Portofino. The name itself instantly transports us to far away places and tropical flowers. With its floral and fruity scent, it works well on both men and women.Launched in 2015, such notes of citrus, honey, bergamot, jasmine and violet leaf almost veer towards a feminine approach.Cleverly, they transport us to a tropical paradise where we envisage clear seas, coastal sands and wild flowers cascading around the high rocks of the coast.
Fahrenheit- DiorThere won’t be many who haven’t heard of this fragrance. Launched in 1988, Fahrenheit cologne is a timeless classic.Although it is another scent that sits in the Cypre family, it also consists of floral notes of bergamot, mandarin, patchouli, vetiver, carnation and violet leaves. The packaging and bottle transport us to far away places with its unique ‘sunset’ colours and is suitable to wear all year round. The initial smell comes across as woody and leather but after a few minutes on the skin, there is a delicate smell of fruit and violets that comes through, giving this fragrance a delicate, yet masculine feel.
Light blue- Dolce & Gabanna
Launched in 2001, Light Blue has a gorgeous fresh summer smell when it is first sprayed.
Almost instantly the citrus and fruity notes hit your nose and it holds a masculine yet playful vibe and this is what makes it such a popular choice for men.
A wonderful collaboration of grapefruit, bergamont, juniper, pepper, rosemary, musk, oakmoss, Sicilian mandarin to name a few of its notes.
Light Blue reminds us of open spaces, holidays abroad and linen shirts.
So there you have it. A collection of male and female perfume that smells like flowers.
Did you know ?Fm World have a collection of designer inspired fragrances for men, women and unisex that have very similar perfume notes to those of the designer names. If you love fragrances but not their price tag, take a look here for our collection of alternative perfumes and aftershaves.

Most of us have heard of Aloe Vera and it’s wonderful healing benefits. One of the top selling products in the range is the Aloe Vera face wash by FM World.
Our skin suffers immensely from so many elements. During the hot weather we are sitting out in the sun, or having a dip in the sea, or swimming in chlorine dosed paddling pools in the back garden.
Through the winter months we have the central heating on or open fires blazing and we feel the bitter winds and cold as we walk through the rain/snow and stormy weather.
With so many elements, we pay the price when our skin becomes dehydrated and it can several weeks to get it back to feeling good again.
I came across a product a few years ago from FM world called Aloe Vera Facial Foam. As part of the Aloe Vera range, the foam is one of their best-selling products so I was very keen to give it a try.
Aloe Vera Facial Cleansing Foam
Name: Aloe Vera Facial Foam
Where to buy: FMWorld.com
Size : 150ml
As part of the Aloe Vera range, this 150ml bottle has been created to be very gentle on the skin, as you would expect from any Aloe Vera product.
Yet it’s still effective in its job in cleansing and removing day to day dirt that our skin naturally picks up.
Many women use a make up remover lotion with cotton pads to remove make up or make up remover towels which are effective and have become very popular over the past few years.
Up until I found this product, I was doing the same thing. Trying different ways to clean my skin effectively.
What I love about this product is the lightness and gentleness on my skin with the ability to remove all traces of make up.
Even stubborn mascara is gently removed without the need to vigorous rubbing.
Around the eye area is particularly sensitive and the skin is much thinner so it’s very important that whatever skin care routine you follow, you do this area very gently.
How to apply
The applicator nozzle on their bottle gives the right amount of foam and I find that just two pumps is plenty.
Wet your hands and face first before using the product and then apply. Wash the face thoroughly and then rinse with warm water.
One of the benefits from this product is that it doesn’t dry the skin or make it feel tight like many other soaps and face washes can.
Another benefit of using this foam is that it is hypoallergenic and if you happen to get any product in your eyes, it won’t sting.
We see so many skin types and not everyone is the same, so to have a suitable product that is great for all skin types and is very gentle, works wonders.
The last thing we need is to wash our face in a cleaner and then have to replenish the lost moisture back into the skin with a bottle of moisturiser.
Gentle on the skin
Being part of the Aloe Vera family, you already know what to expect.
The wonderful properties of Aloe helps to smooth the skin, any irritations and reduces redness, whilst fighting against free radicals ( unstable atoms that can damage skin cells and thus cause ageing and illness).
We want our skin to feel smooth, soft and still have movement so this product helps to keep the skin subtle.
It can be used every day, twice a day as part of your morning and evening routine, without drying your skin.
I find it suitable to use as a face wash first thing in the morning before applying make up and then before bed to remove traces of the days’ cosmetics and everyday dirt.
It’s surprising how much we touch our face during the day without realising it and dirt from our hands is easily transferred to the face.
As previously discussed in my article about perfume soaps, there are products that are too harsh for such a delicate area and overtime, will dry out the skin.
I believe more people are avoiding using flannels to wash their face these days too as they can breed bacteria.
It’s a much better option and more hygienic to use your hands to foam up a product and wash directly.
The beauty of using foam on your face instead of soap bars is the barrier the foam creates. It helps to keep your skin from being damaged by harsh rubbing and absorption of strong scents that we typically find in many soap bars.
A definite ‘must try’ product that you will get many weeks of applications from and an affordable price.
You can also take a look at the other great products that are in the Aloe Vera range.

We already know that many celebrities endorse the designer perfumes but what about the celebrities who have their own fragrance?
Celebrities earn a percentage of the designer perfumes they endorse and the range is getting bigger each year.
There will always be the classics such as Chanel no.5 and the La Vie Est Belle perfume advert that appears on our screens every Christmas.
Many celebrities wear their signature designer perfumes as previously discussed in ‘what perfumes do celebrities wear’.
Others prefer to wear their own creations.
One may see it as a very clever marketing strategy.
Top celebs who wear their own unique scent are already one step ahead as potential customers shop for the scent that their pop idol or favourite film star is wearing.
They play a huge part in the perfume industry, no matter who is big at the time and it keeps those who don’t have a current album or film out, in the limelight and earning money.
We will always be influenced by celebrities. They seem to have that awe about them.
Even though we don’t know any of them personally ( unless you’re very fortunate to ) their presence on and off social media and TV, keeps us adoring them.
Perfume is a very personal product and many of us have in the past, or still do, own a designer bottle.
We see our favourite star on platforms such as Instagram, which has become more popular over the past few years and has overtaken Facebook in popularity.
The more we see what they are doing in their day to day lives, the more we feel some kind of connection to them.
Wearing a bottle of fragrance that a celebrity has either endorsed or created themselves, make us feel closer to them.
A spritz of their fragrance from the bottle (that’s hopefully stored correctly), or seeing their face on the packaging of the scent that they have created, takes us one step further into the lives of a celebrity.
Once celebrities saw the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and Jennifer Lopez creating their own scent, others started to jump on board and saw a new profit market to add to their millions.
As long as the public continue to ‘support’ their favourite artists and TV/ film stars, there will always be a need and a space in the market for new and existing celebrities to create and wear their own beautiful scents.
Let’s take a look at those who wear fragrances that they have played a big part in creating.
When you have a name as big as Ariana Grande, it’s no surprise that some of her (7) perfume collection carry the same title as her records.
With perfumes such as Thank U, Next and God Is A Woman, these scents will be memorable in more ways than one.
Ariana has created a collection of scents that carry a sweet, girly and playful vibe.
She clearly has a sweet sense of smell as many of her perfumes contain marshmallow as one of its fragrance notes.
Ariande has a huge following of youngsters so she has cleverly created perfumes that are suitable to a particular young age group.
Not only that, but her scents are affordable too and make a great gift for a daughter or niece without breaking the bank.
Every bottle has a very feminine, soft, innocent and young theme to them.
Cloud by Ariana GrandeWho wouldn’t be on cloud nine with this beautifully designed bottle ‘Cloud’ ?Shaped like a cloud that transports to you a higher place, you soon come back down to earth with its sweet and floral notes.Vanilla, coconut and praline are the first to reach the nose and with a wonderful combination of bergamot, musk, lavender and pear, this balances out the sweetness to perfection.Being such a very sweet scent, it is important not to over spray as it would likely linger for hours on your skin and linger in the air for those around you.
Thank U, Next by Ariana GrandeAnother bottle to grace us with femininity and love is Thank U, Next.A clever designed bottle shaped as a heart that’s broken, automatically speaks a thousand lyrics of her popular song.As the bottle breaks out of the broken heart, it gives a positive and strong message to the younger generation, that even through heartache, we can still get back to being strong and independent.Suitable to wear all year round, we have a wonderful concoction of raspberry, pear, rose petals, musk and macaroon sugar.
A beautiful combination of sweet scents to re instate the message of love being bittersweet.
God Is A WomanWe already know this, right ?Ariana Grande has created a style bottle that is at the other end of the scale with this fragrance.A very bold and strong bottle shape to enhance the title and with strong fragrance notes of cedarwood, vanilla and pear, it powerfully hits and is straight to the point.Being designed as an eau de parfum, this scent will feel and smell much stronger, so a great choice of bottle and name.
Britney SpearsBritney Spears is no stranger to the limelight and has been around since her early days of appearing on The Mickey Mouse Club with the likes of Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. There is definitely a theme to Britney’s ‘Fantasy‘ perfume range. In this collection we have bottles that are shaped like a sphere. Soft edges, colourful and an elegance with a selection of small crystals edged into the bottle. There are fragrances in the collection that are suitable for both day and night time wear and all the seasons.
Island Fantasy by Britney SpearsIsland Fantasy is suitable for daytime and summer with its sweet, citrus and aquatic notes. We already get a sense of summer with this perfume, not only for its fragrance notes but also with its green/blue colour bottle.Tropical seas with crystal clear water. The top fragrance notes bring this fragrance to life with watermelon, mandarin, citrus, clementine and red berries.Flowers that make up the heart notes include jasmine, violet and freesia and a base of musk to keep the light and delicate feel of summer lingering.Although it’s not the most long-lasting or fragrances, this would be ideal for the summer where we don’t want to wear a heavier scent and have the option to re apply during the day. This gives just enough scent to keep us smelling fresh during the warmer months or summer holidays.
Sunset Fantasy by Britney Spears
Another bottle of fragrance from the Fantasy range sees this colour bottle almost feeling oriental.
With its gold, orange and pink vibrancy tones running through it, we get a real feel for places abroad.
Very much a summer fragrance with sweet, citrus, vanilla and fruity notes.
With a fragrance scent that is almost in keeping to the same theme as the bottle design itself, we have sweet and fruity scents as the top notes of Italian Mandarin, apple, grapefruit break through.
Another fragrance that you wouldn’t particularly buy for its longevity but it certainly has a mixture of fruits from plants.
Raspberry leaf and orange blossom balance out the peach fruit nicely.
An unusual choice of base note being milk mousse. We don’t often experience this in perfumes but it works well with the vanilla, sandalwood, amber and Australian sandalwood.
Mariah CareyMariah Carey is hugely known for her amazing vocals, big personality and diva status.A once shy looking young lady who first adorned our screens, Mariah has shown the world that she is here to make a huge impact. Her aim? To give joy to others with her incredible song lyrics, shatter a few glasses with her vocal range, I’m sure, and create a beautiful scent for equally independent women.
M by Mariah CareyM by Mariah Carey shows a very elegant purple based bottle, with the lid in the shape of a butterfly- one can assume to fit in nicely with her album Butterfly, which was released in 1997.This fragrance is an amber floral scent and was launched in 2007.Sitting in the oriental family of notes, M by Mariah Carey captures the romance and elegance with its sweet top notes of marshmallow and sea water. It has unusual heart notes of gardenia and tiare flower and more familiar base notes of patchouli, amber and incense. Some would think that the marshmallow would be a little too overpowering but although it stays with you, it is blended and balanced well with the heart and base notes to leave a gorgeous scented perfume.
Halle Berry began her career as a model. It’s easy to see why with her natural beauty.
Since then, the American Oscar winning actress has gone on to play parts in many Hollywood films and her latest venture sees her following in the footsteps of so many other celebrities embracing the perfume world.
Halle by Halle BerryThe 2009 bottle is as simplistic as its name-Halle by Halle Berry.Stylish, gold and elegantly shaped, Halle has created a sensual fragrance with a delightful cocktail of beautiful perfume notes.Based in the floral family, Halle has top notes of pear blossom, fig leaf and Sicilian bergamot. An unusual mix of heart notes- mimosa, freesia and hibiscus, finished off nicely with amber, cashmeran, olibanum, white musk and driftwood.
This perfume sees Halle releasing her first fragrance and a last chance to grab a rare and discontinued fragrance.
Many more have been added to her collection since.
Instinct by David BeckhamDavid has a wonderful selection of male scents and has since collaborated with his wife Victoria to bring us a ‘his & hers’ range from their fragrance line the House of Beckham. He does enjoy wearing other designer scents as his signature scent but he also wears one of his own from his fragrance line House of David Beckham , called Instinct.Falling in the Fougere family and created in 2005, this bottle consists of a great blend of wood, earthy, spicy, floral and citrus notes.
There’s a fresh, citrus opening to this fragrance as we get a whiff of mandarin orange, followed by a woody aroma.
The bottle itself is very simplistic, distinguished and clean. No fuss, no thrills and what you see is what you get kind of vibe.
Tom FordTom Ford is no stranger to the fashion industry and the fragrance world so it would be slightly strange if he didn’t in fact wear one of his own creations as his signature scent.Alongside fragrances, Tom has created his own brand in menswear, accessories, eye wear and beauty products.
Beau De Jour by Tom FordThis scent was launched in 2020, so a fairly new addition into the fragrance world.Just like David Beckham, Tom Ford has kept the scent of his own fragrance as an aromatic base within the Fougere family. There are a great selection of spices as we smell woody and earth notes. This scent has lavender extracts and touches of Rosemary, mint, basil, oakmoss and then the base of patchouli and amber.Another scent to come in an eau de parfum, a light spritz of this strong fragrance will go a long way so less is definitely more.
There are so many celebrities who have created and shared their love of creating wonderful scents and sharing them with us.

Article:Choosing the right perfume
You would be led to believe celebrities wear the perfumes and aftershaves that they endorse. Whilst there are plenty that do, many have their own favourite.
What perfume do celebrities wear?
It’s well-known many of today’s celebrities endorse a scent during their career but many do wear different scents to the ones they’ve helped create and promote.
From film stars to pop stars, we’ve seen a staggering amount of fragrances sold off the shelves in store as well as online.
With up and coming stars hitting our screens and the celebrity circuit, we’re a little curious as to what scents these stars wear themselves.
Interestingly they are scents that they don’t get paid for wearing either.
Many of us will reach for a perfume or aftershave bottle before a night out or a weekend away so what do the celebrities wear when they go out in public?
Celebrities often have a signature scent that they wear. A fragrance that reminds them of an occasion or indeed a scent to remind others of their presence. We’ve all been there.

Many of us or our friends have a signature scent that gets worn to every occasion and the more we get to sniff such fragrance, the more it reminds us of the person who is wearing it.
Scents have a wonderful way of bringing back memories and special times, similar to when we listen to music.
Let’s delve into the celebrity world of fragrances and take a look at some of the brands that our celebs are reaching for.
What perfume do celebrities wear
There won’t be many who haven’t heard of Adele or heard her records and know her unique style of music.
Famous for writing powerful lyrics and unforgettable melodies with her beautiful ballads that almost everyone can relate to, Adele has been wearing her favourite scent since her teens.
Hypnotic poison by Dior is one of those perfumes that can be very difficult to wear due to its powerful scent and it has certainly made a statement since its release in 1998.
Just like Adele’s power ballads having the impact to hit home and are easily remembered, this fragrance has the same effect.
Top notes : Plum, coconut, apricot
Heart notes : Jasmine, caraway, Brazilian rosewood, tuberose
Base notes : Vanilla, milk almond, sandalwood
A mixture of sweet yet powerful fragrance notes that will instantly give an impact on its first spray and a scent that will definitely get heads turning.
It would seem the perfect scent for such a powerhouse. Both celebrity and perfume make an unforgettable entrance.
Harry Styles burst onto our screens as a 16 year old, back in 2010 when he auditioned for the X Factor.
Since then, he became one fifth of the boy band One Direction and has continued his success as a solo artist to this day.
Harry has been wearing the scent Memoire D’une Odeur by Gucci since staring in several campaigns for the fragrance.
This gender neutral scent is perhaps contrary to what we may expect Harry to wear going by his unique fashion wardrobe.
A man that possibly has every man, and women in fact, envious that he can wear absolutely anything and still look good!
We visualize a strong masculine scent that turns heads so his choice of fragrance is a much more delicate approach.
With light herbal notes, it’s not an overpowering scent and sits nicely as an all day, every day kind of fragrance.
Top notes: Bitter Almond, chamomile
Heart notes : Musk, jasmine, Indian jasmine
Base notes : Sandalwood, vanilla, cedar
Since its release in 2012, La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme has been a huge hit with Julia Roberts behind the TV advert.
Not only does she endorse the product, she is also a wearer of the famous fragrance.
We have another popular singer that likes its sweet and floral scent as Camilla Cabello enjoys this design too and I have to say, it’s one of my all time favourites.
A first whiff of this fragrance automatically gives us a sense of youth and summer vibes and it’s no surprise why this scent is so popular.

Top notes : Blackcurrant, pear
Heart notes : Jasmine, Iris, orange blossom
Base notes : Vanilla, praline, tonka bean, patchouli.
When you hear that Gordon Ramsay is a wearer of Aventus by Creed, it’s of little surprise.
This scent has a masculine, rebellious and woody structure. A scent that is straight to the point, direct and there’s no confusion that it’s part of the Creed family.
A touch of fruit gives Aventus its softer edge and a side that we occasionally see in this high profile, straight talking celebrity.
Top notes : Italian bergamot, pineapple, french apples, blackcurrant
Heart notes : Patchouli, dry birch, rose, Moroccan jasmine
Base notes : Oakmoss, musk, ambergris, vanilla.
Johnny DeppLaunched in 2015, Savage by Dior has become hugely popular. With a high dose of pepper, this fragrance still shows masculinity alongside hints of lavender and cedar. As part of the Fougere family and one of the top selling fragrances for men, looking closely at the fragrance notes, it shows an unusual selection.A selection that makes up this scent and is quite fitting for a quirky celebrity as Johnny Depp to wear.Top notes : Pepper, Calabrian bergamontHeart notes: Lavender, pink pepper, patchouli, sichaun pepper, geraniumBase notes: Cedar, laudanum, ambroxan
Cameron DiazPure faced Cameron Diaz is a wearer of the fragrance Happy by Clinique, founded in 1968.Possibly a very typical choice of perfume with its floral blend of happy, feminine and vibrant blend of fragrance notes. We often think of pure, fresh skin and a delicate scent whenever Cameron Diaz adorns our screens. With a smile and a twinkle in her eye, this scent really does fit her personality perfectly.Top notes: Blood orange, apple, grapefruit, orange, bergamot, Indian mandarinHeart notes: Lily-of-the- valley, rose, freesia, orchidBase notes: Amber, musk, lily, magnolia and mimosa.
Lady GagaWearing such a fragrance as Womanity by Thierry Mugler certainly suits the unique creativity of Lady Gaga.A blend of sweet and spicy fragrance notes that fall in line with the classic and iconic scent of Thierry Muglar perfumes, fits this pop star down to a tee, alongside a creative bottle design.
With its distinctive notes, it makes this perfume very versatile and suitable for any independent women and was launched in 2011.
Top notes: Citrus, green notes, chutney
Heart notes: Sea water, caviar, black fig
Base notes: Virginia cedar, immortelle, vetiver and opoponax ( violet scented flowers)
Katy PerryAnother celebrity who has a keen smell for unique scents by a classic designer is Katie Perry.Katie wears Angel by Thierry Mugler which was first launched in 1992.A scent with an acquired taste I feel, as it has very sweet notes and it’s almost like wearing the scent of a bar of chocolate! One of those fragrances that you either love or hate.
Too many sprays could leave you and others with a headache as this perfume has a very strong base of vanilla that does tend to linger for a while.
Not the best design of bottle to fit on your bedside cabinet as it doesn’t stand up on its own so one to keep in the box in between sprays.Top notes: Strawberry, dewberry, honey, jasmine, orchid, rose, bergamot, helonialMiddle notes: Chocolate, coumarin, caramelBase notes: Sandalwood, patchouli, vanilla, musk.
Brad Pitt is a wearer of Musk by Lorenzo Villoresi.
A masculine scent that is seductive, sensual and mysterious and was released in 1995.
Once Brad started wearing this scent, it understandably became more popular. We are often influenced by high profile celebrities and what they wear when it comes to fragrances and clothes.
With a touch of floral, wood and vanilla, this fragrance still maintains its balance as a unisex scent.
Top notes: Bay leaf, eucalyptus, mint, coriander, cypress, green notes, cardamom
Heart notes : Cloves, nutmeg, pepper, cinnamon, fir, juniper, oregano, Thyme, caraway
Base notes : Sage, rosemary, tomato leaf, heliotrope, oakmoss.
Another celebrity that always has that youthful appearance year by year and wears Dune by Christian Dior is Sandra Bullock.
Sandra is no stranger to our TV screens and has appeared in many box office films.
A classic scent designed in 1991 and still popular today with its floral musk scent and is suitable for daytime or night, especially through the summer months.
Top notes: Mandarin, bergamot, aldehyde, palisander, peony, broom
Heart notes: Rose, ylang-ylang, wallflower, lily, lichen, jasmine
Base notes: patchouli. Sandalwood, amber, musk, oakmoss, benzoin, vanilla.
So there you have it.

The perfume industry is huge and continues to grow. One of the great things about buying a new fragrance is the samples that are available to try before you buy.
We’ve all done it, purchased a perfume because it smells nice on someone else or the celebrity endorser behind the bottle is one of our favourite actors.
We are still very much influenced on our purchases when it comes to fragrances.
There are lots of places where they either offer free samples or samples at a small cost so that you can try a fragrance before you commit to buying the bottle.
A wonderful idea that saves you money on buying a perfume that you potentially may never wear.
Everyone’s skin is different so each individual fragrance will smell unique on your own skin.
Many a time we have friends, family or perhaps even strangers that will comment on our chosen fragrance.
They like the scent of it and may go as far as buying the bottle themselves, only to find it doesn’t smell the same on their skin.
Another expensive bottle of celebrity perfume sits in the wardrobe or on the dressing table.
When I was younger, I loved going into the perfume stores with my late mum to get a collection of perfume samples.
It was a cheap way of having a fragrance every day.
Perfume samples nowadays can be used for so many ideas.
Are you getting married?
Have you ever considered purchasing a selection of perfume samples to give to your guests?
They’ll love this idea.
Using perfume samples as wedding favours has become very popular over the last few years and doesn’t have to cost a fortune either.
A great way to say thank you to your wedding guests for attending your special day by giving them a selection of perfume/aftershave samples at the table.
Decorative bags and pouches can be bought online from places such as eBay to make the samples look more elegant as a gift.
There are some pretty drawstring pouches available in a range of colours.
An extra gift
Another idea for using perfume samples is to add a small gift to a birthday or Christmas present.
Particularly if you find out what fragrance the person likes such as floral, woody, citrus, oriental etc.
You could then choose those fragrance notes as an extra gift to pop inside their present.
Be creative with your samplesThere are several things you can do with your perfume samples if you don’t want to wear them or give them away. Here’s a few ideas. The potpourri that’s been sitting on your kitchen windowsill and has now lost it’s scent can be easily revived with sprinkling drops of your perfume sample on top.Take a sample abroad for your holidays. When the airport limits the amount of liquid we can take, a sample bottle is the perfect solution and you can take a few different scents with you too.Add a sample bottle to a water spray with a little water and spray your car seats gently to give them a new scent when you next get back in for a drive.A great idea for smelly kitchen bins is to add some drops to a couple of cotton balls and pop in the bottom of your bin before your liner goes in.Drawer liners keep our clothes smelling fresh so why not add a little potpourri into a small pouch bag.Add a few drops of your sample perfume to add a gorgeous fragrance the next time you reach for your smalls.
If you are a user of the tumble dryer during the winter months and usually use scented sheets, why not create your own.
Add several drops of perfume onto a damp handkerchief and pop it in the dryer. Your wet clothes will come out smelling fresh, clean, scented and dry.
Where to buy perfume samplesAt FM WORLD, perfume samples can be purchased between 40p ( PURE and PURE ROYAL) and £1.50 (UTIQUE) per sample. All of our fragrances bar the Utique range, are inspired by celebrity perfumes. If, for example, your favourite perfume is La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme, a gorgeous floral and sweet scent, you can purchase a sample of FM 413 which has very similar notes to this celebrity perfume and won’t cost you more than £18.You can read our review on this fragrance here.
A popular choice of fragranceThousands of men and women currently wear FM fragrances as they are so popular, long-lasting and affordable. The perfect combination. We all have a different way of thinking when purchasing products. There are many that prefer to buy the designer range because of the celebrity endorser behind that product.Needless to say, you do pay a percentage towards the packaging, the designer bottle, the celebrity endorser and the TV advert that goes alongside it.FM fragrances were created to give quality perfume that lasts longer than the celebrity perfumes and are affordable for any budget. They also created perfume where you don’t pay for the above external factors. They all contain 20% or 30% pure perfume oil. This means that your fragrance will last around eight hours if you are using 20% perfume and even longer if you are buying a 30% perfume oil fragrance.
Quality samples, quality perfumesBuyers want to pay for quality and at FM they do just that. With so many fragrances to choose from, over 200 in fact, we really are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing one of our favourites. We don’t need to spend £80-£100 on designer fragrance when we can buy a more affordable bottle that has very similar notes. So similar in fact that they smell almost identical.
Pure and Pure Royal range
Having such a large selection to choose from, the PURE and PURE ROYAL range samples measure as 1.4ml sample bottles.
