Where to buy perfume samples
The perfume industry is huge and continues to grow. One of the great things about buying a new fragrance is the samples that are available to try before you buy.
We’ve all done it, purchased a perfume because it smells nice on someone else or the celebrity endorser behind the bottle is one of our favourite actors.
We are still very much influenced on our purchases when it comes to fragrances.
There are lots of places where they either offer free samples or samples at a small cost so that you can try a fragrance before you commit to buying the bottle.
A wonderful idea that saves you money on buying a perfume that you potentially may never wear.
Everyone’s skin is different so each individual fragrance will smell unique on your own skin.
Many a time we have friends, family or perhaps even strangers that will comment on our chosen fragrance.
They like the scent of it and may go as far as buying the bottle themselves, only to find it doesn’t smell the same on their skin.
Another expensive bottle of celebrity perfume sits in the wardrobe or on the dressing table.
When I was younger, I loved going into the perfume stores with my late mum to get a collection of perfume samples.
It was a cheap way of having a fragrance every day.
Perfume samples nowadays can be used for so many ideas.
Wedding favours
Are you getting married?
Have you ever considered purchasing a selection of perfume samples to give to your guests?
They’ll love this idea.
Using perfume samples as wedding favours has become very popular over the last few years and doesn’t have to cost a fortune either.
A great way to say thank you to your wedding guests for attending your special day by giving them a selection of perfume/aftershave samples at the table.

Decorative bags and pouches can be bought online from places such as eBay to make the samples look more elegant as a gift.
There are some pretty drawstring pouches available in a range of colours.
An extra gift
Another idea for using perfume samples is to add a small gift to a birthday or Christmas present.
Particularly if you find out what fragrance the person likes such as floral, woody, citrus, oriental etc.
You could then choose those fragrance notes as an extra gift to pop inside their present.
Be creative with your samples
There are several things you can do with your perfume samples if you don’t want to wear them or give them away. Here’s a few ideas. The potpourri that’s been sitting on your kitchen windowsill and has now lost it’s scent can be easily revived with sprinkling drops of your perfume sample on top.Sprinkle some perfume onto your potpourri for a delicate scent in the home Take a sample abroad for your holidays. When the airport limits the amount of liquid we can take, a sample bottle is the perfect solution and you can take a few different scents with you too.Add a sample bottle to a water spray with a little water and spray your car seats gently to give them a new scent when you next get back in for a drive.A great idea for smelly kitchen bins is to add some drops to a couple of cotton balls and pop in the bottom of your bin before your liner goes in.Drawer liners keep our clothes smelling fresh so why not add a little potpourri into a small pouch bag.Add a few drops of your sample perfume to add a gorgeous fragrance the next time you reach for your smalls. If you are a user of the tumble dryer during the winter months and usually use scented sheets, why not create your own.
Add several drops of perfume onto a damp handkerchief and pop it in the dryer. Your wet clothes will come out smelling fresh, clean, scented and dry.

Mother’s Day gifts
Mothering Sunday falls on Sunday 27th March 2022 here in the UK and we have a selection of Mother’s Day gifts to suit all the mums out there.
Why do we celebrate Mother’s Day?
Around the world, many countries will celebrate Mother’s Day. A day to show all the mothers that we appreciate all the amazing things that they do.A celebration of what being a mum means, the material bonds and motherhood.Without our mothers, we wouldn’t be here today.Even before a child is born, the connection that a mother has to her unborn child is unlike any other. We have already started building the incredible bond way before the baby has arrived into the world.Dating back to the 16th century, Mothering Sunday began its story as a Catholic and Protestant Christian holiday.People would visit their ‘mother’ church, a church where they were baptized or attended when they were growing up. This was known as Laetare Sunday. The fourth Sunday of Lent.Possibly the only day in the year when families could get together and children would stop off on their way to church to pick flowers and make a beautiful bouquet for their mothers.A traditional gift for mothers is a bunch of beautiful flowers This soon became a tradition and a way of giving gifts.Such an iconic day seemed to fade out through the 20th century until the 1950s.Businesses and wholesale trades saw a gap in the market and begun the huge lucrative trading opportunity that we see today. A way of making money from such an iconic event. There are places around the world such as Canada, New Zealand and Mexico that celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday 10th May.
So quite some time after the UK. Children would make presents to give to their mothers.
A day to show appreciation
Whatever date Mother’s Day is held around the world, the day symbolizes the same thing – to show mothers how much they are appreciated.Of course, every day should be a day to show mothers how much we appreciate them and what they do.Having a special day to celebrate has very much become a tradition like many yearly events, such as Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day and Easter Sunday.Mother’s Day gifts

Our skin is prone to dryness during the summer with the high temperatures as well as in the winter when the temperature drops outside and we have the heating on indoors.
Its good practice to moisturise after a bath or shower as the hot water can dry the skin as well.
An added benefit of having moisturized skin is that your perfume/ cologne will last much longer too. Skin preparation has so many benefits.

Valentine’s Day perfumes
Who says perfumes are just for Christmas or birthdays ? Valentine’s Day perfumes are just as popular.
As we say goodbye to another year and 2022 is now upon us, thousands of people around the world will have bought a fragrance for their loved one at Christmas.
What about Valentine’s Day?
Whilst the next traditional date that we gift for seems to be a long way off, January soon passes and the sales come to an end.
Just around the corner is the month of love.
Valentine’s Day is very much a time for giving the perfect gift Every year the shops will see an influx of shoppers on line and in store looking for the perfect gift for their loved one. Almost as busy as the Christmas season.
When did the Valentine’s Day tradition begin ?
Valentine’s Day as we know is celebrated on 14th February every year. A time when roses, chocolates and flowers are giving out to the ones we love.
A symbol of togetherness and also a day to show admiration for those who have no idea that they are loved or thought of.Affiliate disclosure

The story of St Valentine is an intriguing one as every tradition has a place in history, it’s interesting to read how Valentine’s Day started.Every year it is celebrated by many and cards and gifts are bought to show affection.Whether you have a partner or not has no impact on purchases as many will write a card or send flowers to an admirer in the hope that they will soon become one.
A card from a secret admirer will have you guessing as to whom is thinking of you The recipient is often left baffled as to whom has sent such a thoughtful gift or card as they find themselves going through the names of everyone they know in a bid to narrow down who it may be.
I’m sure there are many people out there who have received a card in the past from a mystery admirer. I have and still to this day, over 25 years later, never knew who it was from!
One of life’s little mysteries and even more so when the card was sent in April!
Giving gifts
Many will perhaps see the giving of presents on such a day is purely for how society expects us to behave.
Surely we don’t need a day in the year to tell someone we love them?
Quite rightly we don’t but it is a wonderful thing to receive gifts and to let someone know how much we care, even if we do show it daily.
Much of Valentine’s Day as we celebrate it, is to do with social media. Every card shop, online store and flower shop will advertise this memorable day.
Usually way ahead of time as the shops starts the clearing and huge sales of its Christmas stock.
We share a token of love and affection to others and even though it should be shown all year round, it’s good to have a special day to ‘celebrate’ it.
The price we pay
It’s inevitable that the price of cards, flowers, perfumes and chocolates will go up as February 14th approaches. This has always been the case.
Marketing strategies are very much in place way before we’ve seen the back of Christmas.
Remember though, we don’t need to spend a fortune on ‘publicised ‘ products.
Cards can be hand made if you are creative enough, flowers can be picked from your garden and perfumes can be purchased from more affordable companies.
FM Cosmetics will often have their fragrances reduced during such a high peak of purchases because they believe in helping customers make savings on their purchases so that they can buy more of what their partner would like.
It shouldn’t be a case of how much money a business can make during a publicised event but simply a chance to help others with a gift to give their loved one.
Why we give flowers and chocolates on Valentine’s Day
The tradition of giving flowers on St Valentine’s Day began during the 17th century.
Red roses are seen as a representation of love and therefore given to someone special. Often in the same quantity as the date itself.
Most women love to receive flowers in any form.
A box of chocolates became a popular gift to give both men and women but not until the middle of the 19th century.
Chocolate was seen as a product to help seduce women and show their declaration of love. Apart from having aphrodisiac qualities, who doesn’t love chocolate ?
Fm have their own delicious chocolate We often try to look for something unique to give on a special day.
Whilst flowers and chocolates are not personal items and will eventually perish or be consumed, giving a fragrance will last much longer and can be bought with a more personalised feel.
In some way, Valentine’s Day, along with Christmas and Easter, will have an element of marketing to help boost sales, especially with Covid still hanging around.
Businesses need more support than ever and rely on such events to help with profits during such difficult times.
Whether you are a buyer for this occasion or simply prefer to say ‘I love you ‘ in words, there are plenty of affordable perfumes to choose from if you prefer to keep away from the overpriced flowers and chocolates.
Whenever we think of romance and romantic scents, we think of fruity and citrus based notes.
There are a selection of perfumes to suit the month of love so pop along to my online shop and save the link so you check out our offers nearer the 14th February.
We are all about helping you save money and if you have any questions, please pop them below or get in touch.

How to give the perfect gift
How to give the perfect gift is almost as important as what present to give, depending on who you are buying for.
There’s a lot to be said about what you actually purchase for that person.
Giving money, especially to young children, has often been deemed as the lazy option as no real thought has gone into the purchase.
After all, children like to open presents. They like the idea of unwrapping a box or a parcel.
Even as we get older, it’s always nice to receive something that we can open. Receiving an envelope with money is almost a quick way out.
As adults, sometimes giving money is the only option, especially when that person is very difficult to buy for or they have no idea what they would like.
Teenagers sometimes prefer to have money because they can buy what they like as opposed to what Nan and grandad think they like. Money is great to put towards something that they actually want.
I’ve received money as a present for many years from certain members of the family. Especially having a birthday close to Christmas. It can be hard to find two present ideas when there is a birthday to buy for too.

Join an online platform to help our business grow The perfect gift
As we get older, it can become more difficult to know what to buy.
Peoples taste changes over the years, they become more fussy and what they may have liked 10 years ago may be of little relevance now.
Sure enough the gift sets appear with body shower, soap, face scrub etc that only seem to appear at Christmas time.
The kind of sets that many people will reach for because they simply have no idea what else to purchase.
Everyone will use a body spray, body wash and a bar of soap.
It’s almost classed as an easy option. Whichever shop you go in to, whether it be a supermarket or a beauty store, there will always be a selection of gift boxes containing body scents.
They are normally reasonably priced too so this is another factor that people go for when it comes to buying a gift for someone.
Nowadays, I find myself trying to find more unique presents. It’s always good to go with the right mindset when present shopping. If you had the item given as a gift to you, would you like it?
So many times when we go gift shopping, we’ve picked up an item that we’ve thought would be suitable and questioned if we would like it. Any doubt and it’s placed back on the shelf.
Sometimes we’ve walked out of the shop and returned half an hour later. Our minds have been made up.

Perfumes for Christmas
Spicy and woody fragrances are very popular during the winter months and heavier notes are often chosen during this season. It’s almost the opposite end of the fragrance wheel when looking for and purchasing summer scents, like floral and oriental scents. Both fragrance families have their own unique style and suitability. When the shops have scented candles on sale during Christmas, they are usually made up of spicy, orange and woody notes.
Winter perfume notes
So when looking for the perfect perfume for a gift or for ourselves to wear during the winter months, we are drawn to the heavy, warm and deep notes.
Many popular fragrances contain woody notes Such fragrances tend to be more powerful that the light and floral scents that are work through the spring and summer months.
With this is mind, it’s worth noting that the perfumes should be sprayed sparingly as they will be too overwhelming to wear.
They’ll also leave a heavy perume sillage for those around.
A light spray is all that’s needed with a new winter fragrance, so always try samples before a purchase if available.
Fragrances will smell very different on the scent paper in store.
Arriving home to try the new spray only to find that it doesn’t smell the same as in the store, is disappointing.
There are so many winter fragrances to choose from and one to suit men and women.
With the cost of perfume, especially around Christmas time, a good purchase is a must.
Here are some of the most popular fragrances during winter.

Christmas gifts for her
Christmas seems to approach quicker every year and many will be scouring the shops and online to find ‘Christmas gifts for her’.
Some of the men will leave Christmas shopping to the last minute.
It’s not usually something on their top list of priorities.
Either that or they don’t ‘see’ Christmas fast approaching like women do.
Women are definitely the more organized out of the two.
Christmas Eve will see many men dashing about the shops.
None of them really knowing what it is they are looking for.
They’re either forgotten what their partner has asked for or they’re hoping that any gift ideas will jump out at them in the store.

This leads to more and more people shopping online in general.
Whether it’s for gifts or everyday items, there are still some that like to browse the shops, especially at Christmas time.
There is a wonderful atmosphere in the run up to the festive season.
Lights, decorations, beautiful Christmas trees and a true sense of buzzing.
The beautiful and picturesque scene of London at Christmas Everyone gathers together and the tills are heard ringing when we walk past every shop.
Big department stores are always popular at Christmas.
The place where we can park the car for the day or catch a train and have every shop we’ll ever need right in front of us.
These shops were more often than not the most expensive ones.
It was the atmosphere around that seemed to ‘blanket’ the cost of what was going to be an expensive shop.

Gift wrapping service
The queues were often extended right outside the door as people were seen queuing up for their ‘perfect’ gift.
Gift wrapping was sometimes offered, depending on the purchase and what store you were in.
This in turn, took longer to purchase items as customers are left waiting for the gift wrap service to complete.
The iconic scene in Love Actually The wonderful scene staring Rowen Atkinson in Love actually, showing just how to wrap presents with elegance.
An iconic moment in a very Christmasy film.
Time seems to be something that Christmas shoppers don’t seem to have much of when it comes to shopping for gifts.
There’s a sense of urgently, especially for men, when they realize that time is running out as the special day approaches.
They daren’t return to the car without buying at least one present and getting it gift wrapped in store will save them time.
