For those looking for a perfume to get heads turning, we have a delightful fragrance to do just that. Our FM 924 perfume review showcases the gorgeous scent from the Pure Royal perfume range. Years of working with FM WORLD, a unique perfume company founded in Poland by Artur Trawinski, have allowed me to try many of their fragrances.
Like many perfumes and aftershaves we have tried over the years, some scents are always more favourable than others.
Both men and women are passionate about fragrances, and many of us wear them daily. Fragrances lift our mood and give us a feel-good factor. If we choose the right scent, we can receive compliments on the fragrance we are wearing.
Everyone loves an affordable perfume or aftershave. We already know the perfume industry continues to grow as more and more celebrities endorse fragrances and introduce their line of aromas.
Big celebrities such as Harry Styles, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift have all ventured into the fragrance world, and consumers are always eager to discover the latest popular scents.
While many of these brands can be affordable, many designer perfumes tend to fall in the higher end of our price range.
More often than not, when we spend between £80 to £150 on our favourite fragrance, the bottle can end up sitting in the wardrobe until a special occasion arises for us to wear it. No one wants to wear an expensive bottle of perfume to work daily.
This is where FM WORLD perfumes fit the bill – literally.

We use the same perfume fragrance wheel as other perfume companies and purchase the perfume oil from the same company, DROM. The similarity in scent profile makes our fragrances closely resemble designer scents.
FM 924 shares a remarkably similar aroma to Tom Ford Noir Extreme, and the similarities become evident when we examine the perfume notes in Noir Extreme.

It is interesting to see the similarities and differences between the two fragrances, especially in their top and base notes.
Choosing a more affordable option that is easier on the wallet enables us to purchase additional bottles of the fragrances we adore.
This beautiful scent is unisex and boasts a complementary selection of perfume notes that exude class, sophistication, and sharpness.
This bottle is one of my favourites because its scent is strong but not overpowering, and the instant hints of cardamom and nutmeg dance on the nose.
It can be challenging for perfumers to strike the right balance when creating a unisex fragrance.
FM 924 can maintain a touch of femininity while balancing some masculine notes.
What to expect from this scent
Upon the first spray, you instantly recognize the cardamom and nutmeg, with a touch of fruitiness from the mandarin. The jasmine, floral notes, and rose come through as the fragrance settles on the skin.
Towards the end of the day’s wear, the base notes of sandalwood and vanilla blend beautifully with their sweetness and charm. There’s also a lingering woody aroma that makes this scent perfect for both genders.
I have received numerous compliments while wearing this scent, and it truly adds to the feel-good factor that brightens our day.

When customers inquire about our fragrances, we highlight that FM scents share very similar fragrance notes with designer perfumes. To assist customers in finding their preferred scents, we use a fragrance wheel that helps identify their preference among floral, oriental, woody, citrus, and other fragrance categories.
After discovering the fragrance notes a customer prefers, we can curate a selection of perfumes or aftershaves containing those notes. For instance, if a customer expresses a fondness for fruity scents, we offer a variety of perfume fragrances with prominent fruity notes.
To give customers a firsthand experience, we offer samples from our online store. This allows them to try the scent on their skin and determine if it’s the perfect fit for them.

All the fragrances offered by FM share very similar notes with those of their designer counterparts. For instance, if a customer has a favourite perfume like Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel, we can consult our perfume list to find a scent that closely resembles that particular designer fragrance.
It’s important to note that we can’t sell a bottle of Coco Mademoiselle since we don’t carry it. Our FM fragrance bottles are uniquely numbered, housed in their packaging, and distinct from designer brands.
FM doesn’t copy designer fragrances. Instead, by incorporating similar fragrance notes, FM perfumes offer a scent that is comparable and familiar to well-known designer fragrances.

In our fragrance range, we offer the PURE and PURE ROYAL selections and the UTIQUE range. Notably, all our fragrances contain either 20% or 30% perfume oil, with the 30% being our INTENSE range. You can explore and shop our collection here.
It’s worth mentioning that many designer fragrances are Eau De Toilette scents, meaning their perfume oil is diluted down, resulting in a shorter-lasting scent compared to Eau de Parfum. We can afford to use 20% pure perfume at FM, offering a longer-lasting experience.
This ability to use a higher concentration of pure perfume is due to our unique approach. Unlike brands with celebrity endorsements, TV advertisements, and in-store sales assistance, FM operates without these elements, allowing us to focus on delivering quality at an affordable price.

Celebrity fragrances- Paco Rabanne-1 Million
I mentioned popular celebrity fragrances that are around at the moment. Let’s take a look at Paco Rabanne– 1 million.
The Paco Rabanne scent is pure class. Distinguished, unique and popular with both men and women A famous men’s fragrance, this scent could cost around £70 when purchased from stores such as Superdrugs. At this price point, you’re likely to receive a 100ml bottle. However, it’s worth noting that it is an Eau de Toilette spray, providing a lasting fragrance of approximately 4-6 hours.
The perfume features top notes of fresh grapefruit, mandarin, and peppermint, combined with middle notes of rose absolute, cinnamon bark, and mask. The base notes offer an ultra-masculine leather scent.

Affordable and alternative fragrances
There are many alternatives online to men’s and women’s fragrances. Many of these are ‘copies,’ typically diluted scents packaged in the same box with a fancy bottle that looks identical to the authentic product. We try the scent and realize it either doesn’t smell like we imagined or only lasts a few hours.
It’s only then that we realize we’ve bought a fake product. Markets are notorious for selling counterfeit brands, so beware. So how else can we save money on our favourite perfume or cologne without buying copied products?

Why Wear Perfume
Why wear perfume? Why do women and men wear fragrances? I know several friends who don’t use fragrance. Some are allergic to certain fragrances, and some don’t feel the need to spray perfume (and these are the ones who also don’t wear makeup; perhaps there’s a connection?).
Some only use it on special occasions such as weddings or a night out, while others will wear their fragrance regardless. It becomes part of their daily routine. They may choose more suitable scents if they only wear perfume at home.

Perfume always brings back memories, both good and bad. Spraying on one of your favourites from years ago can be a powerful reminder of going out for the evening with friends—the music playing around that time and the people we were with.
We always cherish memories of enjoying the best times with others. Nostalgic fragrances are like songs; when we hear a record that we haven’t heard for a while, it triggers memories. Sometimes, we play it repeatedly because it brings back happy times.
The perfume industry also knows that perfumes are and will always be in high demand—almost a necessity. There will never be a time when perfume isn’t available to buy. It’s not just ladies who love fragrances; men are keen, too, and there is a beautiful collection for males to suit any occasion.

I learned about Drom Fragrances when I started working with FM World in 2015. Before that, the company was entirely unknown to me. When I was younger, I chose perfumes based solely on their scent, without ever considering the origins of their ingredients.
My FM sponsor introduced me to Drom through the social platform X, revealing they supply perfume oil to many of the world’s most famous designer perfume companies.
Today, many designer perfumes rely on Drom as their perfume oil manufacturer. Like many others, I often don’t know where our products originate; we purchase what we like without thinking about their origin.
Based in Germany, Drom’s story began in the early 1920s with the Storp family. The name originated when Bruno Storp met the perfumer Dr. Clement. The foundation of DR O Martens & Co was later renamed Drom.
Anyone who has bought an FM perfume will notice its resemblance to high-street brands. This is because Drom retains the rights to the creations and markets of several companies, including FM. The company has grown steadily yearly with over 200 fragrances for men and women and unisex options. This year, 2024, marks FM’s 21st anniversary.
When Drom Fragrances Met FM World
FM World Poland was established by Mr. Artur Trawinski in 2004. I had the incredible opportunity to meet him during one of our October 10, 2005, conferences. Meeting someone who had created a global business, starting with fragrances, was exciting. I was pleasantly surprised to find him an ordinary, down-to-earth man with a big dream. He appeared shy and unwilling to be the centre of attention at such a significant event.
Nevertheless, he warmly greeted the hundreds of members who had joined his empire, all of us immersed in the world of fragrances and witnessing the company’s ongoing success. Since I became a distributor for FM World, I am often asked, “Do you sell designer perfume?” or, “I like Chanel No. 5. Can you get me a bottle?” The answer is always no, so let me explain why you won’t be able to purchase a designer bottle from our perfume company.
At FM World, we are a unique brand. So, what does that mean?

Your unique brand typically means creating and establishing a unique product, service, or individual identity. It involves developing a distinct personality, reputation, and image that sets you apart from competitors and resonates with your target audience. A brand represents the perceptions, values, and experiences of a particular entity or offering.
An identity is a brand with a clear and consistent identity that reflects your purpose, values, and mission. It defines who you are, what you stand for, and what you offer.
A strong brand distinguishes itself from competitors by highlighting its unique selling points and distinctive qualities. It emphasizes what makes it unique or different and positions itself as the preferred choice in the minds of consumers.
A well-established brand ( FM World began its journey in 2004) grows trust and credibility with its audience. Consistently delivering on promises, providing quality products or services, and maintaining excellent customer experiences helps build a positive reputation.
Our brand has become hugely successful worldwide as we have created an emotional connection with our target audience. This connection helps build loyalty and has encouraged our customers to advocate for the brand.
At FM World, thousands of distributors like myself, leaders, and loyal customers enjoy the products the company has created.
If we had a bottle of Chanel no. 5 that we could see, it would be in the same style bottle with the same packaging, and this would then be considered a copy and a fake bottle.
You won’t find any of our fragrances in designer boxes carrying a designer name because we do not sell designer fragrances or copies of them.
Another question I sometimes get asked is how our fragrances smell the same if they are not copies.
For many years, there has been a myth that our fragrances are copies of the designers, so let’s look into that and clarify a few things.

Identifying Fake Fragrances: How to Spot a Copy and What Sets Our Products Apart
We’ve all encountered a fake product at some point, but what does a copied fragrance look like? A copied fragrance will often come in the same packaging and bottle, but the fragrance is significantly diluted, proving that the so-called designer fragrance you have purchased is fake. If our fragrances were fake, they would be in the same bottle and packaging as the original designer fragrances.
As you will see, our fragrances have unique designs and bottles, and we don’t need to dilute our perfumes—quite the opposite. With our perfumes, you receive more perfume oil in each bottle than the designers, who often use around 16% perfume oil compared to FM’s 20% oil.

Many of our fragrances smell similar, if not identical, but that’s not because we’ve copied them. We use the same company, DROM, for our perfume oils. This vast company supplies FM World with perfume oil and many designer names, such as Chanel, Gucci, and Calvin Klein.
FM also use the same fragrance notes from the fragrance families.
Perfume Notes
Fragrance families are a way to categorize and classify different types of perfumes based on their dominant scent characteristics. There are several commonly recognized fragrance families, including:
1. Floral: This family encompasses fragrances that feature the scents of various flowers, such as rose, jasmine, lily, and violet. Floral perfumes are often feminine and romantic.
2. Oriental: Also known as ambe or spicy fragrances, oriental perfumes are rich, exotic, and often warm. They may contain notes of spices, vanilla, musk, and precious woods like sandalwood or patchouli.
3. Woody: Fragrances in this family center around woody notes like cedar, pine, or sandalwood. They can be earthy and masculine and evoke the scent of forests.
4. Fresh: Fresh fragrances are light, clean, and refreshing. They often include notes like citrus fruits (lemon, bergamot), green leaves, and aquatic elements.
5. Citrus: This family focuses on the bright and refreshing scents of citrus fruits, such as lemon, orange, grapefruit, and bergamot. Citrus perfumes are lively and energetic.
6. Chypre: Chypre fragrances are distinctive, featuring citrus top notes, floral middle notes, and mossy or woody base notes. They are sophisticated and timeless.
7. Fougère: The fougère family features aromatic notes like lavender, oakmoss, and coumarin. These fragrances often have a masculine scent and are commonly used in men’s colognes.
8. Gourmand: Gourmand fragrances evoke the scent of edible treats and desserts. They often feature notes like vanilla, chocolate, caramel, or coffee, creating a sweet and indulgent aroma.
9. Aromatic: Fragrances highlight herbs and spices like lavender, basil, sage, or thyme. They can be refreshing and are common in men’s and unisex scents.
10. Leather: Leather fragrances capture the scent of leather, often with additional notes like tobacco, spices, or wood. They can be bold and smoky and evoke a sense of luxury.
These fragrance families provide a framework for understanding the dominant scent characteristics of different perfumes, but many fragrances may contain elements from multiple families or defy easy categorization.
With our fragrance families and notes, we fall into several categories. The scent would be identical if we used similar fragrance notes for one of our perfumes as the designers do for theirs.
Selling Designer Perfume
Unlike the designers, who use celebrity endorsers, TV advertising and less perfume oil (EDT) at FM, we don’t need to dilute our product.

We can use pure oil (20%) because we don’t have overheads. The company has thousands of distributors like myself, which enables it to sell unique and affordable perfumes to you, the customer.

As you can see, Chanel No. 5 and our FM bottle No. 20 have similar notes but are not identical. Those familiar with Chanel No. 5’s scent may not notice any difference between the two bottles, while others will say they smell very different.
