    Perfume Trends For 2024

Let’s talk about a subject that taps into our senses and emotions: perfume trends for 2024. We will discover how these trends reflect our collective tastes and times. From botanical bursts to synthetic wonders, each year brings a new wave of olfactory experiences.

Staying in step with these trends isn’t just about staying current; it’s about understanding the unique blend of artistry, technology, and market dynamics that influence what scents we’ll be drawn to. The world of fragrance is deeply interconnected with global events and cultural shifts, shaping our social language through scent.

Why might you be interested in what’s spritzing up for 2024? Whether you are a connoisseur or simply someone who enjoys a pleasant aroma, keeping a finger on the pulse of perfume trends can offer fascinating insights. This keen understanding seamlessly leads us to question why we instinctively follow these trends and how they come to be.

Discovering the Essence: Why We Chase the Latest Fragrance Trends

I’m going to delve into something fascinating here. Have you ever wondered why we gravitate toward the latest scent trends with such enthusiasm? This isn’t just about smelling nice; it’s about something more profound. The reasons are as complex as the fragrances themselves.

Coco Mademoiselle For Women Eau de Parfum Spray 100 ml

It’s about the psychology behind our decisions. People have an innate desire to feel connected, and following trends is one decisive way to achieve that. Choosing a perfume in vogue can give us a sense of belonging, as if we’re part of a more significant, stylish movement that transcends individual tastes.

But there’s more to it than just fitting in. Our choice of perfume is a personal signature, a way to express our identity. Just as we update our wardrobe to reflect our evolving style, updating our scent wardrobe keeps our olfactory identity fresh and relevant in a rapidly changing world.

Those trends also encourage a sense of discovery and novelty, which I think we all crave. Trying out new perfumes becomes an adventure, a chance to explore unknown olfactory territories without leaving the comfort zone of a trending consensus.

Don’t worry too much about blindly following the crowd. It’s perfectly fine to be selective. Choose something that resonates with you on a personal level, even if it’s a trending scent. Ultimately, the fragrance you wear should be an extension of who you are.

The Scent Architects: Who is Behind the Creation of Perfume Trends?

I will pull back the curtain on the mysterious figures who shape what the world smells like. In the perfume industry, there are masterminds, known as ‘noses’, who often work behind the scenes to create aromatic masterpieces that set the stage for global trends.

These scent architects are a blend of artists and scientists. They meticulously craft each fragrance note to evoke specific emotions and environments. They draw inspiration from a vast palette of ingredients, from exotic flowers to synthetic molecules designed to replicate the scent of rain.

In addition to skilled perfumers, major fashion houses and luxury brands dictate trends. When a high-fashion brand releases a new perfume, it comes with the brand’s prestige, often shaping consumer preferences before the first spritz ever touches the skin.

Celebrity endorsements are another influential factor. The allure of a celebrity’s lifestyle can make their signature scents wildly popular, and the collaborations between celebrities and seasoned perfumers can also usher in new trends.

Then there’s the rise of niche perfumeries, the craft brewers of the olfactory world. They’ve been disrupting the market with unique and bold scents, appealing to those looking for something outside the mainstream – and sometimes, the mainstream follows suit.

Unlike blockbuster scents, these boutique players often use rarer ingredients and more complex compositions, which can lead to a cult following and, eventually, wider market adoption.

Amid this intricate web of influencers, one thing remains consistent: a blend of creativity, market insight, and, sometimes, sheer luck that propels a scent to trendsetter status.

Navigating the Aromatic Currents: To Follow or Not to Follow Trends

In the fragrance world, adopting the latest trends isn’t always straightforward. It’s a bit like choosing a new hat—you want one that fits well and reflects your style, not just what’s grabbing headlines.

Diving headfirst into trendy scents can be thrilling; it’s a way to reinvent your olfactory signature and keep your scent wardrobe fresh. But hang on, it’s not just about hopping on the trend train. There’s something to be said for sticking with what works for you.

The classics, those time-tested favourites, have staying power for a reason. They’re dependable and often evolve into a kind of olfactory comfort blanket, invoking memories and reaffirming our sense of self. One could argue that your scent—the one that’s ‘you’—outweighs the fleeting appeal of the latest fad.

Still, don’t let that deter you from exploring. Trends can serve as a guide, a window into what’s new and exciting. They can be a source of inspiration, even if you don’t adopt them wholesale. Think of them as a scent library to browse, not a mandate to change your entire perfume collection.

As we flow into the next section, consider this: the balance between embracing new trends and staying true to your essence is a dynamic dance. Understanding the lucrative business behind these aromatic trends sheds light on why certain scents are popular. It’s a mix of artistry, marketing sophistication, and, quite frankly, a keen sense of what can make an industry thrive.

The Alluring Business of Scents: Understanding Perfume Industry’s Success

I will tell you why the perfume industry isn’t just surviving; it’s thriving massively. You’ll learn about the innovative strategies that make this market one of the most lucrative.

Now, what is a significant driver of this success? Sure, it’s about the luxurious bottles and the enchanting scents, but it’s also about the brilliant economics behind it. High-profit margins are a reality here; a little liquid costs a lot because it’s not just the product but the story it sells that matters.

In my opinion, the real game-changer has been scent marketing. It’s why you feel a little happier when you pass a store that smells like fresh linen or warm cookies. Brands understand our olfactory connection and leverage it to the maximum, generating emotional ties and increased sales.

Don’t worry too much about the industry becoming stagnant, either. Companies have many opportunities to innovate their branding, target niche markets, or even create entirely new scent categories.

Choose something that resonates with you; chances are, the industry is already tapping into that appeal with tailored marketing and personalized experiences. Customization isn’t just a trend; it’s a strategy that perfume companies use to ensure the customer feels unique. And guess what? They are.

It blew me away in terms of the quality of these marketing approaches. By telling a unique story and appealing to our desire to express individuality, the industry is not just selling perfumes but a piece of an aspirational lifestyle, making it incredibly successful.

Beyond the Bottle: The Emotional Journey with Perfumes

Perfumes do far more than make us smell good. They can evoke memories, transport us to different places, and even change our moods. Let’s explore the deep emotional connections we often forge with our favourite scents.

Every fragrance tells a story. You might recognize a hint of jasmine that reminds you of a family member’s garden or a whiff of tobacco that evokes images of your grandfather’s study. Perfumes are unique in our personal life narratives, intertwining with significant daily moments.

Moreover, there is emerging interest in the therapeutic potential of fragrance. Beyond their aesthetic appeal, perfumes are being acknowledged for their ability to boost well-being. The concept of ‘aromachology’ examines the effects of scent on the human psyche, suggesting new possibilities for perfumes as mood enhancers and stress relievers.

Trends and economics do not just drive the world of perfumes; it is deeply rooted in the emotional and experiential. As we continue to embrace new fragrances, we don’t only add to our collection of scents but also our reservoir of emotions and memories. And who knows? The most cherished perfume memories of tomorrow could well be influenced by the trends of 2024.

    Zendaya’s Favourite Perfume

Zendaya’s favourite perfume is Lancôme Idole, and it’s easy to see why. Who is she? With so many celebrities endorsing perfumes, one reason such products sell so well is that they are popular. The fragrance world is growing yearly; another celebrity we’re keen to learn about is Zendaya.

A brief insight into the actress/singers’ history

The world is filled with beautiful women, and this American actress, dancer and singer is no exception.

At 27 ( born in 1996), Zendaya Marée Stoermer Coleman has the world at her feet. She has received Golden Globe awards and two Primetime Emmy awards. Zendaya Marée Stoermer Coleman began her career as a backup dancer and a child model for Macy’s, Melvyn’s, and Old Navy.

She made her television debut in 2010, starring in the Disney Channel sitcom Shake It Up, and has since been featured in several films.

Her feature film debut came in 2017 when she starred alongside her current partner, Tom Holland, in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

It is just one of the fantastic Marvel films my two sons and I have enjoyed watching. She also starred in the films’ sequels.

Another popular film, The Greatest Showman, is based on a true story. In it, Zendaya portrays a trapeze artist who falls in love.

The film was a massive hit when it was released in 2017 and is still very much watched today.

Zendaya’s talent doesn’t stop there, though. She has also ventured into the music world with her delicate vocals on the hit record Rewrite The Stars from the same film/musical.

Her most significant success as a musician was collaborating with Zac Efron. A song that reached the top 20 charts.

    Lancôme Idole

This is a popular scent from the Lancôme range of fragrances. It is a reasonably intense eau de parfum that lasts for around eight hours, so a light spray is recommended not to overwhelm. Any fragrance should be subtle on the skin.

Lancôme Idole was created in 2019 with a bottle that shows femininity, class and simplicity. This female scent doesn’t necessarily need lots of sparkle and glamour to be popular. After all, we don’t wear the bottle. It’s the scent that matters.

On its first spray, this fragrance gives an instant hit of rose, musk and fruit notes.

It is a very womanly fragrance with a strong kick. As the fragrance settles, there’s a definite scent of Pink Pepper and Bergamont.

The White Mask and Cedar are noticeable as the base notes come through later. It has a very clean scent with such famous fragrance notes.

I’m sure it will be a hit for many women who like to make a statement yet still have that touch of class and summer vibe. As the name suggests,’ Idole‘ brings a fresh fragrance to life for any woman who dares to be outspoken, strong and empowered.’I’m sure it will be a hit for many women who like to make a statement yet still have that touch of class and summer vibe. As the name suggests, ‘Idole’ brings a fresh fragrance to life for any woman who dares to be outspoken, strong and empowered.

I would say that it is a more suitable scent for an evening out than daytime perfume. It might be too heavy for an office or retail shop working environment.

Lancôme knows how to create a variety of scents. When we compare this one with La Vie Est Belle, there is a noticeable difference as the latter is a much sweeter and more versatile fragrance.

Many women love solid scents and can carry them well without overpowering them.

There are many positive reviews online from customers who have bought this classic scent.

‘Beautiful, long-lasting and elegant’ says one. ‘Perfect for the confident women‘.

‘It lasts all day and smells so fresh and sexy‘, said another. coupons

This fragrance also comes in a refillable bottle that can be taken to selected refill points of sale, so you will never have to throw your bottle away.

Zendaya is Lancôme’s youngest endorser, who wears its fragrance and is the face of Lancôme Lash Idole mascara.

    Celebrity Endorsed Perfumes

We see celebrity-endorsed perfumes everywhere, online and on the high street. So when did it all start? 1987 Elizabeth Taylor began the trend when she launched her perfume, Passion.

The first celebrity to begin the endorsement trend

    Celebrity endorsed perfumes
Elizabeth Taylor’s signature fragrance, White Diamonds

This wasn’t her first fragrance, either. She created her signature fragrance called White Diamonds in 1991, but the success came with the release of Passion 3 years earlier, which became one of the best-selling fragrances ever. Surprisingly, Passion isn’t as expensive to purchase as you may think.

Take a look on eBay for Passion by Elizabeth Taylor

With such an iconic celebrity at the forefront of this trend, it wasn’t long before the likes of Paris Hilton, Jennifer Aniston, and Beyoncé became just some celebrities who saw a market and a platform for following in her footsteps. It’s well-known that having a celebrity behind their perfume will help massively with perfume sales.

Do men and women purchase a designer fragrance because of the name behind it? Perhaps they did a few years ago, but these days, it’s not just the name behind the brand that matters. After all, there’s little point in purchasing a Beyoncé fragrance just because such a music icon is behind its creation.

We purchase perfumes for their fragrance notes and longevity, too. Women and men need to like the scent when wearing it. It’s a waste of money if the bottle sits in the wardrobe and is never worn. It’s not just perfume that celebrities have endorsements for, either.

Clothing, jewellery, and handbags all have a touch of celebrity attached. Items endorsed by famous people will sell much quicker, too. It’s a very clever marketing strategy that has been around for many years.

    Celebrity endorsed products

When a celebrity endorses a product, the product can reach a larger audience and, therefore, make more sales. For example, when we see a perfume endorsed by Beyoncé, it immediately gives the buyer confidence in their purchase, as the person behind the brand is well-known. Having such an iconic celebrity also makes the product more appealing. Have you noticed how attractive the celebrities who endorse products are? It makes them more enchanting.

    Buying a well-known perfume

Purchasing perfume from a celebrity positively impacts the buyer. When they wear the fragrance created by their favourite singer/celebrity, it instantly gives them confidence. The consumer also feels more important because they are wearing such a fragrance. Whenever we see a perfume being advertised on TV, it will always have a famous face in the commercial.

Would it be the same if some random person off the street posed in an elegant dress whilst holding a bottle of perfume? Of course not.

We are very much influenced by successful people around us, and selling a product on TV with a pop star or film actor is incredibly powerful for the consumer market. As buyers, we feel an instant connection to the celebrity and almost feel as famous and well-known as the idol we look up to.

A friend commenting on our latest perfume purchase and commenting how gorgeous you smell is an instant hit for confidence when you tell them which one you have bought. You will also notice that celebrity fragrances don’t have a considerable price tag—certainly not as high as purchasing designer fragrances from popular creators such as Chanel or Tom Ford.

If you find a bottle of Kylie Minogue’s latest scent (2021),  Darling, it doesn’t have a hefty price tag. It can easily be purchased on for an affordable price.

That’s a whole new level when we see other designer brands, such as Lancôme, with Julia Roberts as their endorser and ambassador. She is the face behind the iconic brand, and you will see her advertising their fragrance on TV, more often but not limited to Christmas.

‘Unlike the pop stars with their own named fragrance on the shelves, Julia Roberts is simply the one who advertises the brand, not the person who has influenced and created the fragrance notes, bottles and packaging.’Unlike the pop stars with their own ‘named’ fragrance on the shelves, Julia Roberts is simply the one who advertises the brand, not the person who has influenced and created the fragrance notes, bottles and packaging.

    Keeping the money coming in

Another reason celebrities endorse products is to keep them in the limelight even when they’re not. It’s a way of creating additional revenue for the stars without having to take on the responsibility or do a great deal compared to holding a concert or attending a talk show.

    Celebrity endorsed perfumes
Celebrities look for other ways of making money when the concerts are not taking place.

Money earned in the background is appealing to everyone, especially celebrities. If their other income is slow or dried up, with no album sales or films to make, it’s the perfect solution for them. They also know that their celebrity status will help massively with sales as customers buy their perfumes.

How much do celebrities earn from endorsing perfumes?

To begin with, this will depend on who the star is. If it is a well-known, hugely popular, and big influencer, they are likely to earn big money. One of the top endorsers and highest paid is Charlize Theron, who has been the face of Dior since 2004 and is one of the most famous perfume ads.

The iconic 2014 advert sees the actress dressed in gold climbing a silk scarf up to the skylight of an elegant building. She throws off her gold pearls and states that the ‘future is gold’ as she walks across the roof with city buildings surrounding her. It’s no wonder the advert and celebrity alone will have customers reaching for such a perfume as J’adore.

With fragrance notes of pear, melon, mandarin orange, bergamot, Jasmine, musk, vanilla, blackberry and cedar, to name a few, the famous fragrance has an instantly fresh summer vibe within its first spritz. The first sniff of fruit and elegance makes this perfume one of the top sellers.

According to reports, Charlize Theron signed a $3 million deal to be the face behind the Christian Dior J’adore perfume and the ads are still shown on screen today. Since becoming the face of J’adore, she has earned an estimated $55 million over the years. That’s some endorsement profit!

    Holly Willoughby perfume

Holly Willoughby is the latest celebrity to join in creating her fragrance in February 2022. The popular TV presenter has a new fragrance as part of her Wylde Moon brand called (borrowed from) The Wild. With top fragrance notes of Bergamot, Blackcurrant and Geranium, heart notes of Jasmine, Mint and Rose Absolute, and base notes of Amberwood and musk, Holly’s perfume is a huge hit.

Fresh, feminine, and a little heavier than floral, the bottle is simplistic and elegant, with a tassel on its cap. Fans are a little divided about the price of £42 for a 50ml EDP bottle. Some will purchase not just because of the beautiful fragrance but also because of the well-loved and admired celebrity behind its creation.

We are all influenced by beauty, success and down-to-earth celebrities.

Combining the right fragrance notes complementing one another is the key to creating a beautiful perfume.

    Network Marketing

In January 2020, a fellow hairdresser asked me why I was involved in Network Marketing. They pointed out that being a hairdresser should keep me busy enough.

For me, it wasn’t about staying busy; it was about having another source of income, something to fall back on.

As we get older, the job we currently do may not be suitable in later years. The physical demands of lugging tools and leaning over clients’ baths to rinse their hair can seem daunting if I were to continue my career into my early 70s.

One day, a colleague asked me, “Do you do this through choice or more for the money? Because if it’s the money, then you can just put your prices up and do fewer clients.”

It was an interesting comment and one that I thought about carefully before I answered.

I’ve been in hairdressing for over 32 years. It’s my passion. I enjoy meeting people, making them look and feel lovely, providing a service, and, of course, paying my bills, like any job.

    Network marketing

I don’t increase my prices to work fewer hours. My clients know I work more hours than I should, but I love what I do. It’s so important to enjoy the work we do. We spend the majority of our lives at work, so why not do something that you enjoy?

I increase my prices yearly due to product price increases and fluctuations in fuel costs (we know how much that can vary!). I also keep up to date with my skills. Being a member of the FHA (Federation of Hairdressers and Beauty Therapists), it’s a necessity to keep skills updated and to learn what’s trending. Above all, it’s beneficial for the clients. This is what I charge for.

    Network marketing

When I first began network marketing, it was more of a hobby that fit in with my hairdressing career. However, I soon saw its potential and wanted to create another business. The idea of providing another great service and products to my already existing client base seemed like the perfect solution and something I was looking forward to working on.

Over the years, this hobby has evolved into another business. I’ve built up a wonderful community of friends online who regularly purchase from me, and we support one another in each of our ventures. Supporting others is crucial, whether you work in an office, a shop, or within a community, so working online is no different. It’s all about collaboration and helping each other succeed.

While working online may not offer the same level of personal interaction as face-to-face interactions, it is still possible to build meaningful relationships with customers over time, even if you never meet them in person. The key to successful online business relationships is consistent and genuine communication.

By providing excellent customer service, addressing their needs and concerns promptly, and offering valuable content or products, you can foster trust and loyalty among your online customers. Building a strong online presence through social media and online communities can also help you connect with your customers and create a sense of community around your brand.

So my response to my fellow hairdresser’s question as to why I work with an online company alongside hairdressing was that I do network marketing through choice and the money is only a small part of why I joined. We all work for the money whatever job we do but helping others in the process is a big part of working online.

I fell in love with the products that the company provides, and I have met some amazing friends, leaders, and mentors. I also wanted to help others make money and save money on their shopping.

When I have someone new join my team, I feel happy, and content, and want to help them make the best of their journey with FM World.

There are no shortcuts in life; we all have our reasons for doing what we do and the career choices we make. For me, helping others far outweighs the money we can potentially earn.

Perfume is such a popular product for both men and women, and I loved the idea that I could save so much money on my purchases, alongside helping others. A definite win-win situation.

    The cost of perfume

The cost of perfume is often a talking point when designer fragrances are mentioned. Therefore, saving money is a focus for many of us. If we can find a suitable fragrance that is a better price and suits our needs, we’re all for that. Working with a perfume company brings its fair share of questions.

One of the questions that is most asked is what the difference is between designer fragrances and FM fragrances. Many have been very sceptical over the years, certainly more so in the early days when FM was created.

    The cost of perfume
Drom create perfume oil for many designers as well as FM

How can a perfume that smells almost identical to a designer one cost so much less? Here’s a breakdown of the difference and where your money goes when you purchase both.

Designer- the true cost of perfume

    Do you sell designer perfume?

When it comes to designer perfumes, the first thing we think of is fancy packaging. Some boxes are just as creative as the bottles and it’s good practice to keep them in the box away from direct sunlight when storing. They will last longer when stored correctly.

One of the main features that stand out with designer perfumes is their stunning bottles. There are some gorgeous bottles in the stores and this alone makes the product eye-catching for the customer. When a product stands out, we are more likely to purchase it.

Some most distinctive bottles are Angel by Thierry Muglar. Shaped like a star. Not the most practical bottle as it doesn’t stand up on its own. That one is best to keep in its box.

    Good Girl by Carolina Herrera
    The cost of perfume
    Angel perfume by Thierry Mugler

Another one which is likely to catch the eye is Good Girl by Carolina Herrera. A very large bottle that’s shaped like a blue stiletto shoe and another one that isn’t practical for every day.

Especially if you want to take it with you in your handbag for a night out. We are certainly a visual nation when it comes to designer bottles and packaging. Besides a small portion of money going towards the fancy packaging, what else does the customer pay for?

    Celebrity perfumes

Every celebrity perfume will have a celebrity endorser.

    The cost of perfume

A celebrity endorser is someone famous who uses their status and fame to advertise a product or brand. They get paid thousands of pounds to advertise a product such as a fragrance, in an advert that may only last 30 seconds. Everything from the hair, the makeup and the wardrobe to the backdrop set or destination of the advert will cost money and lots of it.

TV advertising is another part of where our money goes. You’ll often see perfume adverts, especially around Christmas time when TV bosses will take advantage of viewers watching TV during the run-up to Christmas. Customers are looking at ideas for gifts and what better way than to showcase a product during peak time?

Christmas adverts seem to start earlier each year, as early as October. The TV screen gets showered in adverts to encourage early sales.

    Diluted perfume oil

Designers fragrance perfume oil is diluted so the expensive bottle of Chanel No 5 that you’ve purchased won’t last as long as you’re hoping. We all expect a scent to last for the working day at best without the need to re-apply. This is the production line before your fragrance reaches your shopping basket.

    Manufacturers ➡️ warehouse ➡️ distribution centre ➡️retailers ➡️ customers.

So when we see just what and who is involved in creating a designer perfume, it highlights why the cost can be expensive, especially the top-end brands.

FM perfumes- an alternative to high-street brands

As we’ve just highlighted about the packaging of designer perfumes, FM uses simple packaging. We don’t need to put our bottles inside fancy boxes. No one sees the box when you purchase a new bottle so why pay money for it?

We also have a simple bottle design. Customers are not paying for the bottle when it comes to FM perfumes. It’s the contents inside that matter the most.

Pure oil is used when FM perfumes are created. They don’t dilute the perfume oil so your perfume will last much longer.

Distributor ➡️ customer- it’s a simple process and as we don’t have a ‘middle man’ we can keep the costs low for you. No advertising, no endorses, no expensive packaging.

Keeping more money in your purse

We know the importance of having a fragrance that lasts and is kind to your purse/wallet.

Many of you have made the swap and are making huge savings on your fragrances.

    • No one sees the fancy box
    • No one sees the fancy bottle
    • Celebrities get paid thousands to advertise
    • TV adverts cost thousands to produce
    • Your perfume oil gets diluted
    • There’s a long chain before the customer gets their product.

So, why are designer perfumes so expensive? It’s crystal clear.

    Please don't forget me

    Please Don’t Forget Me

Please don’t forget me once the shops begin to reopen,

When you couldn’t leave the house the world was feeling broken.

You’ve checked in every day to see my quirky posts,

And liked, loved, and shared the ones that have made you smile the most.

Please don’t forget me when you drive to the shops once more,

Remember when I helped you find the gift you were looking for?

The products that you’ve bought have kept my business running,

So please don’t forget me when you return to normal shopping.

Please don’t forget me when you look to buy a new perfume,

Fragrances are my speciality; I can find the perfect one for you.

I can save you money on your favourite bottle of Spritz,

Our comparison is incredible; it’s why I joined this biz.

Please don’t forget me when you pay for cleaning products at the till,

My company sells these too, saving you money on your bill.

The pink lip gloss and vitamins you’ve just added to your cart,

Delete those online, and give my small business a piece of your heart.

Please don’t forget me when you purchase your tea and coffee,

I have so many for you to choose from, offering variety.

And when you load your car with supermarket bags,

Think of my small business and the impact that this has.

Please don’t forget me when you return to your job in town,

This has been my full-time job since the start of lockdown.

I’ve been truly grateful to you all, for keeping my business moving,

And over the past three months, my little biz has been improving.

Please don’t forget me when life returns to some kind of norm,

Remember all those times I’ve helped you through this storm.

Support your local business and keep me in your thoughts,

Please don’t forget me; that’s all I’m asking for.

    Earning an extra income

All businesses were hit hard when the pandemic began in 2019, and some small businesses had to close permanently as a result. Since then, many of us have been looking for ways to make extra income.

Fast forward to 2023, and we have witnessed many businesses suffering due to temporary closures. Unfortunately, some had to close permanently as they couldn’t keep up with the demand and pressure of the pandemic.

The uncertainty, lack of funding, and the huge impact of Covid-19 have certainly taken their toll and still impact many of us. People found themselves looking online for ways to earn money to fill in the gaps caused by the shortfall.

Many employed individuals lost their jobs, leading more people to explore possibilities and the potential of working online. Working online for myself began eight years ago with a company called FM World.

Some of you may already know the perfume company as we have grown significantly over the years, and the pandemic saw many more people signing up for a FREE account to save money on their everyday products and earn money by recommending them to others.

Long before COVID was even known or talked about, FM World had already seen thousands of members enjoying the benefits of helping others and inviting them to join the journey of network marketing.

It has allowed them to earn some extra money alongside their current work commitments.

These days, many of us have more than one source of income, especially with the current cost of living that we all face. Families are working longer hours, more days, and having several jobs to keep themselves afloat and support their families.

There is always a light at the end of the tunnel, and it became even more important to have a plan B in place.

    Working online

At FM World, there has been a significant growth in new people joining, especially during the toughest times over the past three years. Joining came with nothing to lose.

It presented an opportunity to save money and enjoy amazing products that both men and women use daily. Having extra income is never a problem, and we all strive to earn as much as we can with the opportunities that are out there.

Having more money to buy things for our children or to save for a family holiday takes the pressure off the day-to-day struggles that we have all faced of late.

Alongside working with a perfume company, I also work as an affiliate marketer, you have come across this website because I regularly write blogs to help you decide on anything surrounding the fragrance world within Wealthy Affiliate.

From choosing the best perfumes to suit the seasons, candles for outdoor use when the weather gets warmer, and we are enjoying BBQs, to room fragrances that bring a cosy and welcoming feel to any home.

We’ve all been so used to buying from the big stores for so many years that small businesses have long been battling to get a look in. We are often influenced by familiarity, and this keeps people shopping at places that are well-known, rather than looking for smaller businesses that some may have no experience with.

That being said, small businesses have certainly held their own over recent years as we were restricted from going out to purchase our usual products from those stores that had to temporarily close. More and more people are reaching out to offer support, and indeed, some have gone further to start a new venture with smaller companies.

There is certainly room for every single one of us to jump on board and offer a solution to the current situation.

    Buying from a small business

There are several reasons why people should consider buying from a small business.

    ■ Small businesses often offer unique or niche products or services that may not be available in larger corporate chains like the big stores that we are used to shopping in.

They tend to focus on quality and individuality and provide customers with a personalised experience. FM World has unique perfumes and colognes and the official products must be purchased through the company.

There will be many places that sell our products such as Amazon and eBay but it is important to remember that some of these bottles may not be the real product. To avoid disappointment, it is always advised to purchase directly from distributors like myself.

    ■ Dealing with distributors from an online company such as FM, allows you to interact directly with those who are passionate about their products and services. This is the case with FM. We care about our customers and those customers have the potential to join and be a part of the business too.

    ■ Supporting small businesses nurtures an environment of entrepreneurship and helps create opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs, just like FM. There is no limit to how far you can take your online journey.

    ■ By using everyday products and recommending them to others, you can potentially earn yourself commission and potentially earn more money and company benefits if you decide to build your team. Supporting them along their journey and helping one another means that you and they are rewarded for your hard work.

The benefits of working with FM World

FM World is a multi-level marketing company (MLM) that offers a wide range of products in various categories such as cosmetics, household cleaning, health and wellness, and more.

While there are potential benefits to working with FM World, it’s important to approach any MLM opportunity with caution. It has to fit in well with our needs and does take time to build a business.

Potential benefits of working with FM World

    ■ Flexible Business Opportunity: FM World provides a flexible business model that allows individuals to work on their terms. As an independent distributor, you have the freedom to set your schedule, work from home, and determine the level of commitment you want to invest in the business.

This works perfectly for those who already have other work commitments and family ties.

    ■ Potential for Additional Income: As previously discussed, working with FM World offers everyone the opportunity to earn additional income.

As a distributor, you earn commissions on the sales you generate and potentially on the sales made by the team you recruit and train. If you are successful in building a strong network and consistently making sales, it is possible to increase your income over time.

It is also important not to be misled that high earnings are easily achieved.

    ■ Wide Range of Products: FM World offers a diverse range of products across different categories, including cosmetics, fragrances, cleaning products, and more. This variety can provide you with options to cater to different customer preferences and potentially tap into various market sectors.

    ■ Training and Support: MLM companies like FM, often provide training and support to their distributors. They offer resources, marketing materials, and guidance to help distributors succeed in selling products and building their network. This support is very beneficial, especially for those who are new to this kind of work and selling.

  • Branding,  Business

    The power of branding

The power of branding is everywhere around us. There’s no escaping the influences that brands create around their products and we’ve grown up surrounded by brand names for many years.

From a very early age, I can remember seeing brand names in the shops, although I never fully understood what they meant as a child or paid much attention to how the industry worked when it came to branded names.

Over the years we’ve been very much influenced by ‘flash’ labels and what it means to others when they see us wearing or using brand names.

    The power of branding

There are many a reason why people buy brand names. Understanding the motives behind these reasons helps businesses to make product decisions.

Creating and developing a store layout and promotion of their business is an important part of any business.

Let’s look in-depth at some of the reasons behind buying brand names.

    The power of branding

Good quality of a product will often mean that your product has the strength to withstand wear and tear.

This will generally be a good investment of your money when you make a purchase.

We have customer Satisfaction. High-quality products or services meet or exceed customer expectations, resulting in greater satisfaction. When customers are satisfied with their purchase, they are more likely to become repeat customers and recommend the product or service to others. This is beneficial to any business.

The reputation and brand image where consistently delivering good quality products or services helps to build a strong reputation and positive brand image. A company known for its quality builds up trust and is more reliable and credible. This reputation can give a business a competitive advantage, attract new customers, and retain existing ones.

We all love value for money and good quality products or services that provide just that means that customers are willing to pay a premium price for high-quality items because they expect them to last longer and perform better.

Investing in quality can lead to long-term cost savings for customers, as they are less likely to encounter issues or need frequent replacements or repairs. There is also less time wasted having to replace or exchange items when they do not fit their purpose.

Customer loyalty is key and when customers receive good quality products or services consistently, they are more likely to develop loyalty towards the brand. Having repeat customers contributes hugely to a business’s revenue and profitability.

Loyal customers often become brand advocates, promoting the business through word-of-mouth recommendations and positive reviews.

All companies aim to reduce returns and minimise complaints. Offering good quality products or services helps to minimise any negative issues from customers.

In competitive markets, good quality can differentiate a business from its competitors. When a company consistently delivers high-quality services and goods, it stands out and becomes a preferred choice for customers. This differentiation can help businesses attract new customers and gain a competitive edge in the market.

In some industries, maintaining good quality is necessary to comply with regulations and standards. Industries such as healthcare, food, and pharmaceuticals have strict quality requirements to ensure the safety and well-being of consumers. Meeting these quality standards is not only a legal obligation but also a moral responsibility.

    Trusted companies that sell branded

We like to purchase from companies that we know and trust as there’s a sense of safety, professionalism, guarantee, and reliability and feel comfortable making a purchase. We are also more likely to return. Whether it’s a product or a service, building trust is an essential part of any business.

We feel we won’t get let down or left with a faulty product because customer service is usually pretty high with the top-named companies.

Peace of mind when buying branded

When we make a large purchase from well-known companies, we are guaranteed peace of mind. If anything were to go wrong with the product, we have the fulfilment that any issues will be looked at and dealt with.

It’s in the best interest of the company and important to their reputation to look after their customers.

    Less decision- making

We seem to be less hesitant when we buy from branded companies. There’s a feeling of safety and we appear to not have so many doubts when we look to purchase.

Unknown brands often lead us to search the internet for more information before we make a purchase, just to be sure we won’t be left disappointed.

    Added value

Perhaps it’s a myth that we seem to get more for our money when we purchase brand names. Products appear to be better quality and the brand companies know that they have an image and a reputation to adhere to.

Customer satisfaction will always equal repeat sales and customer visits, whether they are online or in-store.

    The power of branding
Banded names have been around for many years

An expression of who we are -branded products

When we think of individuality, it’s often the younger generation that springs to mind. Children grow up wanting designer brands but they have no idea about them when they are so little.

As they grow up, social media, TV advertising and day-to-day chats with friends have led to our children learning about designer products from a young age.

They learn that they are more accepted by others when they are wearing a designer brand. Some perhaps were introduced to designer clothing and footwear as youngsters, due to parents feeling influenced or pressured to keep up with other parents and therefore the latest clothes, shoes etc were bought from high-end shops.

    Loyalty with branding

Some shoppers may feel that there is some kind of loyalty to a company or business when they buy brand names and therefore won’t shop anywhere else. They have built up trust and perhaps fear that by shopping elsewhere, their shopping experience may lead to disappointment.

    Image and branding

When people have a design to fit in, at school, the workplace or socially, they’ll often buy band names because they believe it will assist and contribute to a greater, social acceptance, especially where fashion is concerned. The fashion world is very fast-moving and youngsters especially, feel pressure to keep up with the latest designs and styles.

Interesting…and unknown possibly to many of us is that it can also come down to a psychological need.

We all send out certain messages to others. For example, if we buy a £200 handbag, knowing that we can get a cheaper one for £20, purchasing the more expensive option states importance.

Others may comment and notice the brand name and we instantly feel more accepted and worthy of having a more expensive item.

We’re built to be influenced and to be accepted and the more expensive the handbag, we feel will gain more popularity from others. Alongside the opportunity perhaps to show off the fact that we have the money to purchase an expensive item.

The power of branding The power of branding

    Youngsters and branded products

Teenagers buy expensive labelled clothing but not because they can afford it. It comes down to feeling accepted by others and fitting in.

People want to portray a certain image, a greater social acceptance. Almost like ‘keeping up with the Jones’.

Over the years, we have become more accepting of buying non-designer and branded items.

When someone asks where we bought our jacket/tee shirt or shoes, we’re more likely to be proud of saying that we purchased it from Asda, Matalan, or M&S, with the added comment “It only cost me £20/30….bargain “

As we grow up, buying brand names becomes less of a necessity and we are happy to buy a cheaper item and save money for other things.

    Status attached to branding

For many brands, you are quite simply buying the name and the status that is attached. The next time you purchase a coffee from Starbucks, a pair of Nike trainers or a bottle of high-end designer fragrance, think of the smaller companies that sell similar products. Many will have the same quality as the expensive brands but without the extravagant price tag.

Being unique doesn’t have to cost a fortune

The power of branding cannot be underestimated in today’s competitive market. As consumers, we are constantly bombarded with a multitude of products and choices, making it challenging for brands to capture our attention and loyalty.

However, effective branding strategies can cut through the noise and create a lasting impact on consumers.

Through consistent messaging, compelling storytelling, and a well-defined brand identity, companies can differentiate themselves from their competitors and establish a strong emotional connection with their target audience.

Branding goes beyond just the logo and tagline; it covers every touch point that a consumer has with the brand, including product packaging, customer service, and even the company’s values and mission.

A strong brand not only helps to attract new customers but also cultivates brand loyalty among existing ones. Consumers often seek familiarity, reliability, and trust when making purchasing decisions, and a well-established brand can provide them with that assurance.

When a brand consistently delivers on its promises and exceeds customer expectations, it builds credibility and encourages long-term relationships.

Besides, branding has the power to create responsible value for a company. A well-known and respected brand can command premium prices for its products or services, making it more resilient to price fluctuations and economic declines.

It also opens up opportunities for brand extensions and partnerships, expanding the brand’s reach and influence.

In today’s digital age, where social media and online platforms play a significant role in building consumer awareness, branding has become even more crucial. Brands must adapt to the ever-changing landscape, engaging with consumers through authentic and meaningful interactions.

Successful branding in the digital era requires agility, creativity, and the ability to harness the power of technology to deliver personalized and memorable experiences.

    Struggling to pay bills

Struggling to pay bills can create immense stress for millions, as life often revolves around money, no matter how we approach it. It’s the one thing that makes the world go round.

There will always be times when we find ourselves struggling to pay the bills—a merry-go-round in what we call ‘life.’ Money is necessary for almost everything. Without it, bills remain unpaid, and we can’t afford to buy food, homes, or even take a holiday. The list is endless.

    N0 bills

As children, we never truly appreciated the need for money. There was never a necessity to learn about its value and all that it could bring.

Asking our parents for money—for sweets, new shoes, ballet classes, and the like—was the norm, but as youngsters, we never grasped where that money came from. We simply knew that, for the majority of things we desired as children, our parents’ response was either a straightforward ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ usually accompanied by the refrain, “We can’t afford that.”

The phrase “Money doesn’t grow on trees” was often one our parents used. Indeed, it doesn’t. We now find ourselves using this same phrase with our kids when they request things.

The challenge these days is that it’s not just money for sweets at the local convenience store. It’s funding much larger items such as online games, new bikes, or the latest gadgets featured on the screen.

    Struggling to pay bills

Fast forward to 2020, when the largest pandemic since the swine flu in 2009-2010 hit us all. Whether we were self-employed or working for an employer, the sudden inability to work struck hard. Businesses were closed, put on hold, or forced to shut temporarily, leading to the unfortunate permanent closure of some smaller establishments.

This was a significant blow to businesses that had previously enjoyed great success over several years. The lockdowns affected every individual, regardless of their status or location. At the time, the full extent of the catastrophe was not entirely known.

Employees found themselves unemployed, and smaller businesses, some just starting before the pandemic, had no means of survival. It’s a common challenge for most businesses to incur losses in their first two years of trading. If someone had set up their small business right at the beginning of the pandemic, it would have taken a miracle to survive and continue trading.

Both the young and old were impacted, leading many to seek alternative sources of income. As Christmas approached, the end of 2020 felt isolating. The pressures were heightened as we tried to provide our children with as good a Christmas as we always had. Money was tight, and everyone had to reassess how they spent their wages.

    Online work

Millions of people began exploring alternative options to stay afloat during the crisis. The internet, alongside TikTok, became everyone’s best friend, offering avenues to support ourselves and our families. It underscored the importance of not relying solely on one source of income.

The cost of living has risen significantly over the years, with continuous everyday expenses. Despite the need to pay for essentials such as food and bills, everyone found themselves in the same boat, questioning how it would be possible.

Working online has often faced criticism for not being considered a proper job—one that couldn’t sustain a lifestyle of holidays or cover bills adequately. The pressures of everyday life take a toll on our mental and physical well-being, a reality that became even more apparent over the past 18 months as some struggled to see a way out of such a dark place.

Alternative ways to pay the bills

Although I embarked on my perfume journey long before COVID was even heard of, my business has provided a means for those in need to earn some extra money—for gifts, home decor, outstanding bills, or a bit of luxury for a holiday. Perfume and aftershave are essentials for many women and men.

Even as we put the pandemic behind us, aware that it still lingers in the background, we fast forward to 2022. Just as we celebrate the resurgence of businesses, the return to socializing, and the revival of activities we once took for granted, we are struck by another blow. The price of fuel skyrockets, prompting us to explore alternative ways of travel to avoid frequent refuelling.

Weeks after grappling with the fuel crisis, we are hit again before fully recovering from the aftermath of the pandemic. The cost of living soars to unprecedented levels, plunging us into panic mode as we grapple with the idea of buying only the essentials for everyday living.

Energy bills reach the highest we have ever known, and the winter months, which would typically feel somewhat bleak, become even more challenging as we all adjust to this new way of living.

Working with a company that offers unique fragrances for personal use and recommends them to friends, family, or colleagues provides an opportunity to supplement your income. Helping others save money on their purchases opens up even more possibilities.

If you have a passion for perfume, cosmetics, skincare, candles, etc., always have your phone at hand, and are looking to earn extra money for anything at all, it’s never too late to have a backup plan.

We’re all in the same boat when it comes to the challenges of paying dramatically increased bills, and if we can assist one another in relieving that pressure, it contributes to a better world.

We’re dedicated to helping others. So, if you’ve been searching online for easy ways to earn extra income or just a bit of money on the side, I’d love to hear from you. No super skills are required for working online—training is provided. We all recommend products, films, and restaurants to our friends and family, yet we usually don’t get paid for it. With FM World, you not only get paid for selling products but also have the opportunity to help those in similar positions.

The best part? You won’t even need to get dressed to work online! Join our wonderful community, start saving on your purchases, and help others save and earn money too.
