A similar product a few years back was the incense burner sticks.
These were great if you didn’t mind the smoke filing the room and had a suitable tray to catch the burnt ashes with.
They can prove to be a little messy if you don’t have the right tray for them.
Instant room fragrance but can be messy with the ash falling I found that the tray that you buy for the incense sticks were never wide enough to catch the amount of ash that would fall off the sticks.
Not always a good choice either if you had allergies to highly scented smells as some scents were a little too strong, especially if they were placed in a small room to burn.
They do offer a quick burst of fragrance but the burn time is usually around an hour so you will get through a few sticks if you’re having a night in with friends and want to set an ambiance.
Having fragrance sticks sitting in your favourite scented oil, without the need to be lit, therefore being a much safer option, is definitely the way forward to bringing a fresh and brand new vibe into the home.
Some will come with several sticks depending on which size is purchased Fragrance sticks
These consist of a glass container that holds the oil and around 4 -8 sticks, depending on the size purchased, that are made of a porous wood to enable the fragrance to soak in and diffuse in the air. They can be placed anywhere in the home and can be left without the worry of a naked flame or ashes dropping off the end of the stick.
The fragrance sticks will last much longer than the incense sticks, sometimes weeks or months at a time depending on which type you purchase and how strong a scent you pick.
There is no added worry either that you’ve left the house for work and a candle or incense stick is still burning away.
Christmas time certainly sees a higher rate of house fires because of candles being lit and left unattended. Save the Christmas candles for when everyone is at home, enjoying the festive season.
The festive season is always popular for candles For a continued scent in every room that doesn’t require any safely care then the reed diffusers are a great alternative.
Many of them come in very elegant bottles that make any home look cosy and because they are a safer option than candles or incense burners, they can be placed anywhere in the home.
Why buy more than one ?
Like a fragrance in every room ? There is no reason why you can’t have a different scent for each room in your home.
Being a delicate fragrance that diffuses gently, there is no worry that all the scents will mingle in together and produce a mashed concoction.
Brighten up your home with a room diffuser Tips for your fragrance sticks
- Tip number one: one tip that i have found of use in the past when i have used them is to make sure the sticks are not resting on your wallpaper or any material. The oil will stain anything that it comes into contact with. So keep away from curtains or wallpaper.
- Tip number two: once a week, turn the sticks upside down so that the oil can diffuse a fresh burst of fragrance into the room.
- Tip three: buy new unscented sticks to help your room fragrance last longer.
