As a nation, we are very much influenced by products that are available online and in the shops that have a celebrity backing to them.

It’s a way of giving us confidence in making such a purchase when we know that a well-known celebrity is behind the product.

Supporting the influencers

Imagine this. Your friend that lives down the street from you starts to make a business creating soaps.

You are all for it in the beginning and supportive and perhaps they give you some of their products for free to try on yourself.

They start creating more products as their business starts to get a little busier and then they start trying to sell you the same product that you recently received for free.

We are all too familiar with the memes online that show a person such as your friend starting a new business or being successful in their interview and being offered the job.

They announce it to all of their followers on Facebook and get 25 likes and 10 comments on their post.

As we scroll down our news feed, we then see a celebrity that has endorsed the latest fragrance.

Somehow they have received over 3000 likes and over 100 comments.

It is very much a case of those that have influenced us over a long period of time will always win the majority of votes.

Of course, we don’t know the celebrities personally yet we are willing to support them in new ventures.

We will happily pay more often than not, a high price for the latest perfume or cosmetic product.

More than we usually would for our usual and more affordable Rimmel or L’Oréal brands.

The power of the celebrity status

It may even be a product we don’t particularly want or need but because of the celebrity endorser behind it, this is enough to entice us to part with our money.

I very much doubt we will ever see a break in this cycle as long as there are celebrities to influence us.

Celebrities also know that there will be customers that they have influence over.

So there is never any question about if their product will sell enough quantities of in order to keep it on the shelves.

Alongside endorsing perfumes and aftershaves, many celebrities also have their own skincare range.

We often look at celebrities, especially women, who seem to look perfect in every way. Gorgeous glowing skin and full of radiance. What’s their secret ?

We question what products they’re using in order for us to benefit in looking as radiant as they do.

Many celebrities don’t actually look their age and perhaps this is not just part of the products they are using but the kind of lifestyle that they live too.
