Perfumes for pets
When we think of pet products online, we tend to think of dogs and cats beds, grooming brushes or treats.
There’s not a day that goes by that pet owners don’t pamper their pets.
Hugs, walking and brushing are all part of having a pooch.
So what about other products that go beyond the usual needs of our beloved animals ?
Pet products online
These days there is much more of a variety of pet care products than there used to be.
From shampoo to pet treatment cream, flea treatment and fragrances.
When we mention fragrances, this doesn’t mean spraying your own dog with your favourite perfume!
Tempting as it is.
Nothing worse than having been out for a walk with the dog, in the rain and the house is left with a damp, dog smell.
No matter how many air freshers we spray in every room, the scent of damp dog seems to linger.
They can’t help it of course. Just part and parcel of how their skin and fur reacts when it gets dampened by the weather.
Shampoos for dogs have been around for several years.
Being a dog owner myself many years ago ( 16 to be exact), I owned a bottle of dog shampoo.
That was the easy part. Purchasing the bottle and having it in the cupboard.
Getting the shampoo anywhere near the dog was a whole new ball game!
Getting water on the fur alone, without getting soaked in the process, was challenging enough.
The bathroom floor started to resemble the local swimming baths more than just your everyday wash room.

Being in the perfume industry, I then came across a wonderful website called Velvetalabaster.com
They have a selection of unique products for our beloved dogs and being a dog lover myself, I had to take a look.
Their products range from shampoos, including antiseptic medicated treatment shampoo, treatment cream and perfume.
Of course, the first thing that caught my eye was the word ‘perfume’.
Perfume and pets didn’t go together.
This was certainly a new one for me. Shampoos for our four legged friends was as common as shampoo for ourselves.
When I owned a dog, we used to take him to the groomer down the road.
He would love to be pampered, toe nails clipped and fur clipped so he was tidy and he always came back smelling gorgeous.
So when I came across this website, I was intrigued by what products they provide for our furry friends.
They needed to be safe and non irritant for starters.
Sensitive skin products
Dogs skin is very sensitive so they have created products that have natural ingredients and have avoided any ingredients that could harm the dog.
The shampoo contains essential oils to help with their coat and skin protection.
Gone are the days when we used to use a mild shampoo that had been sitting in the bathroom cabinet for months.
Their shampoo is suitable for all dog types and genders and is PH balanced.
They also have the less is more attitude so you only need a small amount and a little goes a long way.
The company goes on to explain about their perfumes and why we shouldn’t be tempted to spray our own fragrances on our beloved pooches.
A little eye-opener also with regards to bathing your pet. They don’t recommend bathing your dog more than once every two weeks.
Temping to bathe them more than this if you’ve been out for your daily walk and they decide to roll in something not so pleasant!
A big habit of my own dog many years ago. Right before I was setting off for work too!
